Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a call for a assault victim located behind a building. When officers arrived they discovered a male victim in his 40’s that had serious injuries about his head. He was transported immediately to Spohn Memorial Hospital. A witness discovered the victim and called 911. That witness is being interviewed by investigators. Detectives have little information about this crime and are working hard to acquire any information that will lead them to the suspect.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were responding to a report of a man walking on the freeway and were advised that he was possibly staggering. Three minutes later the call was upgraded to a accident involving a pedestrian. Officers and medics arrived and located the 25 year old male victim who was deceased. The victim was struck by two vehicles. Both vehicles stopped and the drivers were checked by officers. The drivers of those vehicles will not be charged in this accident. Follow up investigators shut down the West bound lanes to safely investigate this incident.

Officers responded to a report of a home invasion at 5802 Everhart, Glen Willows apartments. Officers contacted the victim who advised that he heard several loud bangs on the front door. The door flew open and two suspects entered the apartment, one of the suspects had a handgun. They ordered the victim not to move and asked for two subjects by name. The victim advised he did not know those people. The suspects ordered the victim to lay down on the floor and asked where the money and guns were. The victim told the suspect who then took the items and fled the scene.  The suspects are described to be approx 5’8″ tall weighing approximately 160 pounds. Both suspects had tattoos and short hair, one was clean shaven and the other had a goatee. Investigators believe that the suspects are known to the victim.

Officers responded to a burglary of a business at 14049 SPID. The owner advised that someone broke into the business and stole about 80 sets of expensive sunglasses. The suspect, who was wearing a grey hooded pullover, blue jeans, black and white tennis shoes and white gloves was captured on video surveillance breaking into the store. The suspect exited the store carrying a black bag. The owner advised this is not the first time this has happened and that the same items are stolen each time. The owner is in the process of providing a copy of the video surveillance to the investigators.

Officers Mike Rogers and Alexandria Molina were dispatched to the area of 1900 Rodd Field in reference to a vehicle swerving all over the road. Officers arrived and located the vehicle trying to reverse out of the grassy easement and drive on the sidewalk turning into a parking lot. The officers stopped the vehicle and observed signs of intoxication. A Standardized Field Sobriety Test was performed to which the suspect did not pass. The suspect, April Martinez (6-07-1971) was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. April Martinez refused to give a breath sample, a blood withdrawal warrant was obtained and a sample of her was taken at Spohn Shoreline.  April Martinez was transported to the City Detention Center where it was discovered that she had two prior convictions for DWI. Her DWI charge was enhanced to a 3rd Degree Felony.

Four hours later, Officers Mike Rogers and Alexandria Molina responded to a call at Airline and SPID in reference to a man down. When the officers arrived they observed a vehicle at the light with a male occupant asleep at the wheel. Officers contacted the male and safely put the vehicle in park. While he was being checked out by medics at the scene, the officers observed signs of intoxication. After medics cleared the scene he was asked to perform the Standardized Field Sobriety Test. The suspect did not pass the test. The suspect,  Alex Alvarado (10-18-1989) was arrested and transported to the City Detention Center. Alex was also found to have two or more prior convictions for DWI and his DWI charge was enhanced to a 3rd Degree Felony.

Great investigative work by the officers in taking two repeat DWI offenders off the street.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to 5400 S. Alameda in reference to a aggravated robbery. Upon arrival they made contact with a 21 year old male victim. The victim stated that he was approached by two male suspects. He stated the suspects asked him if he had any marijuana to sell. When he said no, the suspect the suspects produced a handgun and robbed the victim. They took a cell phone and a shotgun. The suspects fled the scene in a silver Audi. The victim told officers that he tracked his phone to a location at 5525 S. Alameda. Officers checked the area and located the suspect vehicle. The owner of the vehicle approached the officers and told them that he loaned his car to his friends and they were still in his apartment. Officers contacted both suspects (Undrea Burton DOB 7-13-1993 and Jmelle Jackson DOB 4-30-1994) and were given a consent to search the apartment. CCPD officers located property from the robbery. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the City Detention Center. Jmelle Jackson was also found to have 3 outstanding warrants, one from Harris County for theft and two from Victoria County for obstruction.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to 5900 SPID in reference an assault with injuries. Upon arrival officers made contact with a 49 year old male victim. The victim stated that he was attempting to jump start a car for his friends, who are also the suspects (35 year old male and a 37 year old female). The victim was unable to start the vehicle and told the suspects he would try to start their car in the morning. As the victim was walking back to his car, he was struck from behind with a pipe wrench. The male suspect demanded the victims car. The victim was able to escape in his vehicle. The victim stated that the suspects were staying in a room at the Red Roof Inn. Officers attempted but were unsuccessful in making contact with the suspects. The victim was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a report of graffiti at La Palmera Mall. Officers contacted Mall Security who advised that someone had spray painted the mall property. The security guard stated that they made contact with a white male approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall weighing about 170 pounds and had a beard. The suspect was wearing a black shirt, dark jeans, knit cap with a backpack. The suspect left the scene. Security officers reviewed the surveillance footage and observed the suspect damaging the property.

Corpus Christi Property Crimes Detectives need your help in identifying and locating this person and vehicle of interest. Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to Ocean In Motion Laser Car wash because someone broke into their dispensing machines. The complainant advised that a suspect drove up in a FORD F-450 flatbed truck equipped with welding equipment. The vehicle was seen pulling up next to the towel and ArmorAll dispensing machines. He exited the vehicle and fired up his cutting torch and proceeded to cut the locks off the machines. Corpus Christi Auto Burglary Detectives need your help in identifying and locating this person and vehicle of interest for taking an object out of the bed of a truck on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 11:58am. Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to the Chili’s at 4120 Highway 77 Access North Bound after the manager called in a vehicle burglary. The manager told officers that he saw the suspect vehicle enter the parking lot and park next to a black truck. The manager stated the vehicle matched a description of one that was involved in a vehicle burglary a couple of days earlier. He saw the suspect get out of the vehicle and reach into the bed of the black truck and take something. The manager said that he saw the suspect holding large pair of bolt cutters when he went and confronted him. He took the bolt cutters from the suspect who got in his truck and left the scene.

The driver of the truck is described as a possible Hispanic male, between 48 to 55 years of age, he had grey receding hair and a beard. The video can be viewed on YouTube at http://youtu.be/H7J28iD2_QE.
