Detectives Need Your Help Catching These Burglars

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying the vehicle that was involved in a burglary. The vehicle is caught on camera approaching the area and then turning out its lights. The vehicle then turns down the street. The suspects, who were not caught on camera, enter the residence and take electronics and other items. The vehicle then can be seen driving away in the opposite direction. The vehicle appears to be a red compact car possibly a 4 door.

People Shop With Counterfeit Money, Crime Stoppers Offers Reward To Stop Their Shopping Spree

Corpus Christi Police Financial Crimes Detectives are investigating several cases of store transactions where counterfeit money was used to purchase merchandise and Detectives want help from the public to identify the suspects.

Several of the cases include the same suspects. One case was reported on October 13, 2016 at a corner store located at 5601 Saratoga Boulevard at 4pm. The suspects in this case used a fake 100 dollar bill to buy hygiene products, personal lubricant, and gift cards.

A previous Case was reported on May 7, 2016 at a home improvement store located at 4038 South Port Avenue where the suspects purchased a 20 ounce drink, and wiper blades. In each case the suspects received cash as change for the balance of the transaction.

On the occasion at the home improvement store, one suspect wore a white sleeveless shirt, used a cane, had a tattoo on the outer part of the left and right calf, and a tribal style tattoo on its left arm. The second suspect wore a red/white/black plaid shirt, had a tattoo on his upper right arm as well as a tribal style tattoo on his left arm. Detectives say both suspects entered the home improvement store at the same time. Detectives say one suspect went to the cashier while the other left the store and waited outside the door. Detectives say after the transaction was complete, both suspects left in a red passenger car.

Man Steals Bike From 14 Year Old Boy

A 14 year old boy reported his bike stolen at a store on Saratoga Boulevard on last September.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a store located at 6101 Saratoga at about 5pm on September 24th and a 14 year old boy said his gold and black BMX bike was stolen. The 14 year old boy explained that he rode the bike to the store with friends and they left their bikes at the bike rack when they went into the store. The 14 year old boy told Officers his bike was gone when he and his friends came out of the store.

Officers searched store surveillance video and saw an adult man take the unattended bike from the rack and ride away. The Officers captured an image of the man and now would like help from the public to identify the suspect.

Man Buys Booze With Stolen Credit Card

A 30 year old woman has accused an unknown man of using her credit card without her permission in order to buy liquor from a store last September.

A 48 year old woman called Corpus Christi Police on September 20th to report a suspicious man in the liquor store where the woman is employed. The 48 year old woman told Officers that an unknown man bought several bottles of distilled spirits, and once the credit card was approved, the man turned around to make another purchase of several bottles of liquor. The 48 year old woman told Officers she challenged the larger purchase by requesting to see the man’s identification to match with the card, but the man grabbed the card and left the store.

Officers researched the name on the card and contacted a 30 year old woman who told Officers she did not authorize anyone to use her credit card. The 30 year old woman told Officers her card was stolen on the University campus and she accused the unknown man of credit card abuse.

The unknown man is described as an adult male who wore a black cap, orange long sleeve shirt, had a tattoo of the “CC Hooks” on his left hand and a tattoo of “361” in the shape of a star on his right hand and left in a red in color mustang.

Police Want Help From Public To Locate Missing Person

Corpus Christi Police Detectives would like help from the public to locate a 21 year old woman reported by her mother as a missing person.

A 45 year old woman reported her daughter, 21 year old Breanna Wood (3/8/1995) missing on Tuesday to the Corpus Christi Police. The 45 year old woman told Officers she last saw Breanna on October 11, at 950 Stone Street. The 45 year old woman told Officers Breanna speaks with her daily until October 11 and Breanna left her cat unattended; both characteristics that are unlike Breanna’s normal behavior. Corpus Christi Police believe Breanna was seen at the PMI on Tancuhua Street with a 25 year old man. The 45 year old woman is concerned and would like help to reconnect with Breanna.

Breanna is described as a 21 year old woman who stands 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs about 100 pounds, and has black hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with any information to locate Breanna should have Breanna contact her mother or call the Corpus Christi Police Department at 886-2600.

SWAT Call Out 1800 Treyway

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 1800 Treyway in reference a disturbance with a gun. Officers arrived and contacted a mother and her daughter. They advised that they were in the house with the 37 year old male suspect. They stated that the suspect was under the influence of drugs, would not let them leave and had a gun. The mother and daughter were able to escape from the house. Due to the circumstances the SWAT and Hostage Negotiation teams were called to the scene.

SWAT and HNT arrived and attempted negotiations with the suspect. HNT officers were communicating with the suspect and then the suspect stopped all communications. Officers tried all methods to get the suspect to come out. A portable speaker was used to try and restart communication again. After a couple of hours the SWAT Team introduced tear gas into the house. SWAT officers went into the house and found the suspect hiding in the attic. He was taken into custody at  approximately 2:10 PM without incident. The 37 year old male was transported to Spohn Memorial to be medically cleared and then will be transported to the City Detention Center.

Man Steals Several Pairs of Glasses From Eye Care Store

A 29-year-old woman reported a theft at an eye care store on September 8 to Corpus Christi Police.

The 29-year-old woman told Officers she is an employee at the store and she saw a man walk into the store and talk on a cellular telephone. The 29-year-old woman told Officers she saw the man casually talk on the phone, grab several pairs of expensive eye glasses frames, and then walk out of the store without paying for the frames. Detectives have obtained video of the man who stole the frames and now want help from the public to identify the man.

Threat Made To Flour Bluff Schools, Offender Located And Interviewed

Administrators at the Flour Bluff Junior High School checked overnight voicemail on the schools answering machine this morning to hear a message that threatened school buildings and school employees.  This message appeared to come from a parent who was quickly identified.

FBISD security and CCPD Officers immediately supplemented the security to the Junior High School and the Elementary School.  FBISD parents were notified about the incident by an automated messaging system.   The Offender was contacted at his place of employment and interviewed.   He was not arrested at this point in the investigation. The investigation will continue with the possibility of criminal charges.

 

 

 

Patrol Report September 20, 2106

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to Moore Plaza in reference to a burglary to a vehicle. Officers arrived and saw a Mercedes with a broken window. The victim was contacted and advised that he had come from a bank on Weber Road. He withdrew cash, paced it in a bank bag and put it under his seat. He went into HEB and when he came out he observed his window was broken and the bank bag was gone.

A security guard saw a green SUV parked next to the victims vehicle. When he approached the SUV the left in a hurry. The bank bag was the only item taken. There is no description of any suspects.

Officers stopped a vehicle for no license plate in the 1900 block of Mussett. When officers contacted the driver he was extremely nervous. The driver told officers that he did not want any trouble and that he might still have an active protective order. The driver was detained and found to have a active protective order which prohibited him from being within 200 yards of 2000 Mussett.

The driver, Gavino Gonzales (9/26/1994) was arrested for violating a court order. He was also found to have 2 rocks of crack cocaine in his sock. He was transported to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 10500 Heizer in reference to a disturbance. As officers arrived they observed a male coming out of a apartment holding a small child and with another child following him. Officers asked what was going on, the 28 year old male told officers that she was trying to run out with the children and that he wasn’t going to let that happen. Officers asked where the female was the male pointed to another apartment.

A 25 year old female came out of the apartment. She was breathing heavily and could not talk. When officers attempted to talk with her the male became irate and started cussing at the female. The male went into an apartment and officers followed to find out what was happening. The male stated that they began arguing because she was coughing and he didn’t want her to wake up the children. He stated that she tried to run out with the children and he stopped her.

The female was contacted and advised that her and the male were together when she started to have trouble breathing and began to cough. She stated that while she was looking for her inhaler, the male told her to shut up and not wake the kids. She stated that he then told her to “go ahead and die”. The argument escalated and she started to leave with the children. She stated that the male grabbed her by the hair and pulled her black inside and took a 2 year old from her arms and threw him (the child) on the couch. She stated that the male punched her in the forehead with his fist.

Officers went to contact the suspect, Joshua Lynn Wilson (11/07/1987) and arrest him for assault family violence. He was still holding the 2 year old male even after officers told him several times to put the child down. Joshua backed into the apartment holding the child between the officers. He was told again to put the child down. At this point he began swinging the child back and forth using him as a barrier between him and the officers. Two officers grabbed the suspect and a third was able to remove the child from the suspect. As officers were attempting handcuff the suspect, he began to resist. Officers had to utilize their TASER in order to get the suspect into custody.

The child was not injured during the altercation.  Joshua Wilson was arrested and transported to the City Detention Center.

Warrant issued for shooting suspect at 4900 Olympia Drive.

A warrant has been issued for the suspect in the Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at 4900 Olympia Drive. This happened on Sunday September 18, 2016 at 9:26am. The offender kicked in the front door of the residence and shot the 30 year old male victim with a handgun in the stomach.

Corpus Christi Police Officers are looking for Oscar Merado Chapa (12/6/1980). He is 6 feet tall weighing 185 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

The warrant is for Burglary with the Intent to Commit a felony and Aggravated  Assault W/Deadly Weapon. The bond has been set at $40,000.
