Officers Nab 9-year-old and 11-year-old “Music Room” Burglars

A CCISD employee was monitoring video surveillance in which he observed two juveniles enter the “music room” of Woodlawn Elementary.  The pair was later seen fleeing the school on bicycles.  Officers located the two males and detained them.  The 11-year-old was found to be carrying a tambourine and wooden xylophone mallet, along with a matchbox containing a cigar.  The musical instruments were returned to the school custodian who secured the school.  Both juveniles were released to their mothers.  The 11-year-old was cited for Possession of Tobacco Products.  The investigation is ongoing.

Victim’s Stolen Vehicle Mysteriously Reappears

Reported on 9/21/11, 8:19 a.m.   Stolen Vehicle   901 Utica     1109210028

Victim reported to Officers his red 1993 Toyota Celica was stolen from his residence early Wednesday morning.  Several hours later, Officers contacted the neighbor who reported he observed a Dash Recovery wrecker drive up to 901 Utica, drop off the stolen vehicle, and drive away.  The neighbor followed the wrecker and was able to write down the license plate.  The victim told the Officer that he had a clear title to his vehicle. The Officer confirmed the victim’s information and was told by the finance company the vehicle was paid in full and a clear title was to be sent to the victim.  The investigation is ongoing. 

 

Cascade Car Wash Burglarized

Occurred on 9/13/11, 10:00 p.m.   Burglary of a Coin Operated Machine   1805 Rodd Field 1109160064 

Officers contacted the owner of Cascade Car Wash who reported his coin boxes were burglarized on 09/13/11, but he didn’t report the crime.  The three coin boxes had already been repaired.  The owner told Officers they observed the surveillance video footage of another car wash burglary on a news broadcast.  The Media’s use of the surveillance video prompted them to file a police report.  The victim did have surveillance video of his burglary and will provide a copy.    In the video, a female with long dark hair who was dressed in dark tank top was observed being the lookout while other suspects were breaking into the coin boxes.   Anyone having any information regarding this crime is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS or the Corpus Christi Police Department Property Crimes Unit.  Note:  A copy of the video is not available at this time.

Information Sought In JR Viola’s Cleaners Burglary, Call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS

Reported on 9/18/11, 07:00 a.m.   Burglary of Coin Operated Machine   1310 Airline        1109180050

Officers contacted employees of JR Viola’s Cleaners Laundromat who reported several coin operated machines had been burglarized.  Further investigation revealed the suspects left behind several tools while taking several cash trays.  The total amount contained in the trays is undetermined at this time. There is no suspect description available at this time.  Anyone having any information regarding this crime is encouraged to call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS or the Corpus Christi Police Department Property Crimes Unit.

The Auto Theft Task Force needs assistance in identifying the Hispanic male and Hispanic female wanted in connection with an auto burglary that occurred on 9-11-11 at a local nightclub parking lot, 5800 S. Staples St.  The offenders are shown here using a Lone Star card stolen in the auto burglary.

The hispanic male is medium build dark complected wearing a dark t-shirt, black shorts and white tennis shoes.

The female is wearing a green t-shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes.

Police are looking to identify two subjects, who went on theft spree at Sears Dept. store on September 1st at 6:45 p.m. As you can see in the video the first subject goes throughout the store and loads up the cart with several appliances and male grooming items. He then places the cart right by the main entrance of the store and leaves. A few seconds later the second subject walks into the store and rolls the cart right out into the mall without paying for the items. Both subjects leave the mall and are seen by store employees loading up the loot into a truck. They then fled the area.

The first subject is described as a heavy-set Hispanic male with a short hair cut and a mustache. At the time of the theft he was wearing a dark-colored striped polo shirt, shorts and sandals.

The second individual is described as a black male who appears to be bald at the time of the theft. He was wearing a green polo shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes.

Investigators with the Auto Theft Task Force are looking to identify the two subjects that stole an individual’s truck, and also used the same individuals Credit Card at a local gaming store.

The incident occurred on August 21st , when the two subjects seen in the video stole a vehicle, which was later recovered stripped. However, it appears they located the victims’ credit card, in the vehicle, and went on a shopping spree where they were caught on video. The first suspect is a Hispanic male, wearing a red shirt and jeans. The second suspect is wearing a white cap,  a dark-colored striped shirt and jeans.

Man Found in Dumpster

9:31 p.m./9.14.2011   523 Airline (Bourdeaux Apt)   Public Intox/Poss Dangerous Drugs   1109140153

A call came into the 911 dispatch center for a male in a dumpster near the back of the apartment complex. The caller indicated that the man was not moving. Units arrived to find Norberto M. Lozano (9.22.1988) lying in the dumpster. He was awakened by the Officers and found to be intoxicated. Mr. Lozano advised the Officers that he did not know how he got into the dumpster.

Mr. Lozano was checked by CCFD Medics and then taken into custody for “Public Intoxication” by Officers. During a search of Mr. Lozano, Officers found him to be in possession of several pills. He was additionally charged with “Possession of Dangerous Drugs” and taken to CDC for booking.

Hungry Drunk Rams Wall, Damage Estimated at $10,000

Occurred 9/10, 2:01 a.m.  D.W.I./Criminal Mischief   14301 S. Padre Island Drive   1109100018

Officers contacted a Whataburger employee who reported a White male dressed in a black and blue shirt sporting a black-eye was parked at the drive-thru yelling for his food.  Joseph Green (07/29/83) was told they had been closed for over an hour. 

Green started cursing and yelling at the employee as he drove away.  Shortly thereafter, employees heard a loud crash and observed Green backing up his red Ford F-150 out of the side of the building.  He drove a victory lap around the Whataburger and fled westbound on Park Road 22.  Officers quickly located him at 1802 Ennis Joslin.  His truck was still covered in white brick-dust. 

Green appeared to be intoxicated and was administered Standard Field Sobriety Tests.  A  Blood Warrant was obtained for a Blood Draw.  Green was transported to Spohn Memorial to be medically cleared and the Blood Draw. 

He was arrested and booked at the CDC.  Green was charged with Criminal Mischief and Driving While Intoxicated (State Jail Felony).

Girlfriend Threatens To Kill Cheating Boyfriend At Knifepoint

Occurred 9/8, 11:23 p.m.   Aggravated Assault   5833 Woodhaven   1109090002 

Officers responded to the residence for a female holding a butcher knife to a male’s throat.  Upon their arrival, Officers the parties involved denied the claims, but witnesses told Officers they were enjoying their evening when Felicia Nicole Salazar (08/28/91) discovered her 24-year-old boyfriend and another female had been involved in an intimate relationship. 

Salazar became angry and assaulted the boyfriend, punching him in the nose.  Salazar grabbed a butcher knife and held it against her boyfriend’s neck as she threatened to kill him.   

The victim escaped without being injured and locked himself in the bathroom.  Salazar chased after the victim, using a credit card to open the bathroom door and again threatened to kill him at knifepoint. 

Salazar was arrested and booked at the CDC.  She was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.  The knife was recovered and tagged as evidence.
