Police Arrest Man Who Damaged Church and Rammed Police Patrol Cars

A 61 year old man is accused of causing over $10,000 dollars damage to a church on Waldron Road, and then striking two Corpus Christi Police Patrol cars with his vehicle before Officers arrested the 61 year old man Monday morning.

A 58 year old man called Corpus Christi Police at 8:06am Monday morning to complain that a 61 year old man, Keith Glasson (9/29/195) was trying to force his way into the church located at 3745 Waldron Road. The 58 year old man told Police he was in the kitchen of the building when he heard bangs at the front door. The 58 year old man told Police that he saw Glasson get a golf club and smash windows of the church. The 58 year old man told Police the church has had recent problems with Glasson. Glasson left the church prior to law enforcement arrival.

Officers found Glasson at a convenience store located at Waldron and Caribbean. Glasson saw the first police unit in the Stripes parking lot and reversed into the unit, side swiping the unit and continuing around the parking lot. Glasson circled around and rammed that same patrol unit from the rear and proceeded out of the parking lot . Glasson drove onto to Waldron Road and collided with a guard rail then reversed and headed North, when he rammed a second Police unit which caused it to spin around in the intersection of Waldron and Caribbean. The airbags deployed to both vehicles. The Glasson then exited his vehicle in a delirious state. Officers used pepper and the electronic control device to get Glasson into custody.  

One Officer was taken to Spohn South, where he was released with a cut and contusion to his left forearm, and some small cuts to his face.   The other Officer suffered some neck and shoulder pain, but remained in service. Glasson was taken to the hospital for treatment for minor injuries and then delivered to the city detention center. Glasson was arrested for felony Criminal Mischief and two counts of aggravated assault. Glasson’s gray 2008 Dodge Ram pickup was impounded and the two patrol cars were towed due to damage from the scene.

The suspect vehicle enters the area and connects to a towable industrial piece of equipment and driving away. The suspects make off with three trailers valued over $30,000. The vehicle appears to be a Ford 4-door pick with a long cargo bed.

Stripes Robbery Suspect

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this suspect involved in a recent robbery. The suspect is observed on camera entering the Stripes at 1050 Nueces Bay. He waits in line until other customers leave the store before he pulls a knife and robs the store. The suspect takes an unknown amount of money and then flees the store.

Police Seek Help to Identify Burglary Suspect

Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives would like help from the public to identify and locate a man who Detectives believe may be involved in a home burglary on Queen Bess Drive Wednesday.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer generated an offense report when a person told the Officer that an unknown man entered their garage without permission and took tools without the owners consent. The Officer’s report explains that the unknown man was dropped off near the home in what appeared to be an older model silver towncar.  The unknown man held a note pad and had a tape measure attached to his pants.  The Officer stated the suspect walked into the open garage and stole a Dewalt saw.  The Officer gathered images of the man from the complainant.

The unknown man has not been apprehended and Detectives now want your help to solve this burglary. Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to 9552 SPID at the Navy Army Federal Credit Union in reference to a robbery. Officers arrived and contacted the employees. Officers were advised that a male suspect wearing a red hoodie, sunglasses, blue jeans and something red covering his face came in to the business, went up to a teller and demanded money. The suspect then left on foot in an unknown direction with a undetermined amount of money.

Capital Murder 1400 El Paso

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 1400 El Paso in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers found a 70 year old male shot inside his residence. Officers began CPR until medics arrived and transported the victim To Spohn Memorial where he succumbed to his injuries. Officers contained the scene until homicide detectives arrived.

Officers learned that there was a disturbance earlier in the day  with Domingo Villarreal (8-15-1996). When Domingo left he kicked the dog, threw down the Christmas tree and threatened to come back and do harm to the family. Later that evening the suspect and several other individuals were seen on surveillance video arriving in a white SUV similar to a Nissan Juke stopping in front of the house. Suspects are seen exiting the vehicle and going into the residence. Once the shooting occurred the suspects got back into the vehicle and drove away.  A traffic stop was conducted of the Nissan Juke and officers detained the occupants. Witnesses provided information to detectives of the identities of the suspects involved. Detectives were able to develop enough probable cause to Arrest Domingo Villarreal (08-15-1996), Ian Rey Hernandez (03-10-1996) and Andrew Jorge Luis (05-08-1994) for capital murder. All three were transported to the City Detention Center.

This is still and active investigation and more information may be released at a later time.

Patrol Report December 19, 2016

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 15oo Antoinette for a burglary in progress. Officers were advised that the alarm company stated the wrong password was given and they could hear yelling in the background. Officers arrived and observed the 20 year old victim in the roadway. The victim advised that he was asleep when he heard someone trying to enter a code into the alarm keypad. Shortly after that he heard someone in his home. The victim heard someone in the next bedroom. He opened the door and observed the 19 year old male suspect. The suspect used to be a roommate but was evicted 5 months ago. The victim chased the suspect from the house. The victim observed that a window was open in a bedroom and the screen had been removed and placed on the ground. The victim stated that he believed the suspect was on drugs, wearing a long sleeved shirt and jeans.

Officers checked the area and observed a vehicle turn into a residence at 1600 Antoinette. The subject appeared to be confused and he matched the description of the suspect. Officers contacted the subject who appeared very nervous and was making furtive movements inside the vehicle. Officers detained the subject until the victim arrived on scene to identify him. The victim positively identified the suspect and officers arrested Hallam Russell (4-14-1997) for burglary. Officers found marijuana and drug paraphernalia inside the car, Hallam was additionally charged. Hallam was transported to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to 600 Elizabeth, Spohn Shoreline, in reference to a walk in shooting. Officers contacted the 32 year old male victim who had been shot in the right arm and the right side of his chest. The victim advised that he was driving in the area of 1800 Baldwin and observed an unknown male in a gold car staring at him. The victim stared back and asked the suspect if he knew him. The suspect pulled a handgun and fired at the victim several times. There was a 35 year old female in the car with the victim and she also heard the conversation between the victim and suspect. She advised that she heard the shots and felt the bullets fly by her. The victim fled the scene and that is when the female noticed the victim had been shot. The victim then drove himself to the hospital.

Officers located the victims vehicle and observed several bullet holes in the windshield. The only suspect description was a male between 25-35 years old with a tattoo under his eye. Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to the area of Suntan ans Aloha in reference to a major vehicle crash. Officers arrived and located a 25 year old male wet, wearing only jeans and wrapped in a blanket. The male stated that he drove to the area to throw away some garbage. He stated that when he got back in the vehicle that it began to roll and went into the water. He stated that a citizen helped pull him out of the vehicle.

As officers were speaking with him they detected an odor of alcohol and he displayed signs of intoxication. Officers checked the area and discovered about 10 feet of skid marks as well as damage to the pier. It appears as if the vehicle attempted to brake, struck the curb and pier and wound up in the water. Officers were able to determine there was no one else in the vehicle. Officers arrested Oscar Castro (5-12-1991) for driving while intoxicated and transported him to the City Detention Center. The Corpus Christi Police Department dive team will be recovering the vehicle some time today.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 600 Elizabeth in reference to a robbery. Officers arrived and contacted the 44 year old female victim. She advised that she was in her vehicle in the Spohn Employees parking lot. She stated that she was smoking a cigarette when she was approached by a male on a black bicycle. The male asked her for a cigarette and she told him no. The male began to argue with the victim and at some point pulled a handgun and demanded all her money. The victim put her vehicle in reverse and hit the gas. The suspect fired two rounds at her and when she put her vehicle in drive the suspect fired one more. The victim fearing for her life struck the suspect with her vehicle before fleeing the area. The suspect fell to the ground got up and fired one more round before fleeing on foot.

Offices located the bicycle in the parking lot and tagged it as evidence. Officers also took photos of the bullet strikes to the victims Toyota Corolla. The suspect is described as a male 22-28 years of age, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall weighing 160 pounds. He had 2 teardrop tattoos under his right eye and they were outlined only not filled in. He was wearing blue jeans and a black hoodie. The victim was not injured.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a multi vehicle crash at SH 358 East bound at Nile. As officers arrived they observed 3 wrecked vehicles in the roadway. Officers contacted the 24 year old male driver of the 2014 Chevy Camero. The driver lost control of his vehicle which caused the crash. As officers were speaking to the driver they noticed an order of an intoxicating beverage coming from the driver. He also displayed other signs of intoxication. The driver was asked to perform some field sobriety tests. Officers determined that there was enough probable cause to arrest Darrell Wayne Hillenburg (5-21-1992) for Driving While Intoxicated. He was transported to the City Detention Center.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer was patrolling in the area of 4200 Agnes when he noticed a white Dodge Neon in the parking lot. The business has been closed for several months and the car parked there was suspicious to the officer. As the officer pulled into the parking lot he observed a male walking from the rear of the business and walk to the Dodge Neon and open the trunk. The officer contacted the 43 year old suspect and investigated with the assistance of other officers.

The owner of the business was contacted and arrived on the scene. The owner opened the business and did a walk through with officers. A small hole was discovered in the back of the business which was used to gain access into the building. There was also a bag of tools and a ladder close the hole in the wall. The owner advised that the suspect has done work for him in the past but had no business or permission to be in building at 3:00 AM. Officers arrested Christopher Gonzales (12-31-1972) for burglary and transported him to the City Detention Center.

Corpus Christi Police Officers were dispatched to 1250 Flour Bluff Drive (WalMart) in reference to a stolen vehicle. Officers contacted the victim who advised that his pickup was taken from his driveway at 1500 Dewitt Drive. The victim advised that no one had permission to take his truck. The victim advised that a relative was at WalMart and observed the white 1997 Ford F250 in the parking lot with a man asleep inside.

Officers observed the pickup with a male asleep on the front seat. Officers opened the unlocked door and removed the male from the truck. He was detained during the investigation. Officers arrested Robert Hemphill (11-03-1982) for UUMV. The owner of the truck stated there was a lot of property that did not belong to him in the truck. Officers collected the property and tagged it as evidence. The truck was returned to the owner and Robert was transported to the City Detention Center.

 

Traffic Safety Section Investigates 29th Fatal Vehicle Crash for 2016

The Corpus Christi Police Traffic Safety Section is investigating the 29th vehicle crash with a fatal injury of 2016 which happened Sunday night at the Airline exit ramp on State Highway 358.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on the westbound exit ramp of State Highway 358 at Airline at 9pm. Officers learned that a 57 year old man lost control of his 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle at the exit ramp and was laid in the road when a white Mitsubishi Outlander struck him.  The 57 year old man did not wear a helmet at the time of the crash and did not survive the crash.

The 45 year old woman who operated the Outlander stopped and provided information to Police. No citations or charges have been applied to the 45 year old woman.

While the Corpus Christi Police Traffic Safety Section conducted the crash investigation, a silver 2013 Nissan Versa drove through the line of flares on the ground, between Police Patrol cars, over stop sticks, and almost struck a Corpus Christi Police Officer. Officers stopped the vehicle and contacted 22 year old Jonathan Campbell (8/22/1994). The Officers determined Campbell was not intoxicated, and then arrested Campbell for Interference with Public Duties and Disregard a Traffic Control Device. No injuries resulted from Campbell driving through the scene of the investigation, but one Officer reported he was narrowly missed by the Versa as it drove through the scene.
