The Corpus Christi Police would like help from the public to locate two fugitives who are wanted for crimes against children. Police seek 56-year-old Daniel Obregon (10/9/1957) for Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child, two counts of Indecency with a Child with contact, and Indecency with a Child with Exposure. Obregon is described as a white male who stands 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Police also seek 29-year-old Robert Flores (3/3/1985) for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child. Flores is described as a white male with black hair and brown eyes who stands 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighs about 130 pounds, and has “Flores” tattooed on his upper back and “Isabel” tattooed on his hand/left wrist.

Man Charged With Capital Murder In Flour Bluff Shooting

Corpus Christi Police have charged Sammuel Everett Toomey (07/04/1951)  with  Capital Murder and one count of Aggravated Assault in connection with the shooting that occurred Sunday night at the Marina Village located at 229 Naval Air Station Drive in Flour Bluff.  Corpus Christi Police responded to  a shooting at about 7 PM and discovered three fatally injured people outside different homes.  A 32 year old female another 53 year old female, and a 56 year old male were found outside various homes along Redfish Court and Sailfish Court, inside the Marina Village.    A 10 year old male was also transported to the hospital by CCFD EMS for gunshot wounds.  Corpus Christi Police Robbery & Homicide Detectives  and the Police Crime Scene Units were at the scene until about 5 AM this morning collecting evidence and examining this very large and complex crime scene.  The suspect was charged with Capital Murder because his act caused the death of more than one person during the same criminal transaction, and aggravated assault, a second degree felony for shooting the child.

 

Officers Take Flour Bluff Man In Custody for Triple Homicide

Corpus Christi Police took a 63 year old man into custody for Capital Murder Sunday night at the Marina Village in Flour Bluff. Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a shooting at about 7pm and discovered three fatally injured people outside homes. Witnesses directed responding Officers to the 63 year old man who witnesses said was responsible for shooting the three injured people and a child. A child was taken by ambulance to Spohn Memorial Hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds. Officers were provided information by several witnesses that the 63 year old man was the only person responsible for the shooting so there are no outstanding suspects for this crime.

Corpus Christi Police Robbery & Homicide Detectives responded to gather information and evidence from the scene. The exterior of several homes were processed as crime scenes. Detectives continue to record their discoveries from the crime scene evidence and several witnesses and progress in the process to formally charge the 63 year old man with a crime.

Arrest Made in Early Morning Homicide

On 09/07/14 at approximately 12:09 a.m. patrol received a call for a shooting at 2102 Stillman. Inside the apartment they found the victim, a 22-year-old male, with a gunshot wound to his head. Medics arrived and transported the victim to MMC. At approximately 2:32 a.m. he was pronounced dead.

Based on witness statements, Officers and Detectives were able to determine the suspect in the shooting. An arrest warrant was obtained for Richard Andrade (12.11.1984).

At 10:20 a.m. Andrade was arrested and taken to the City Detention Center where he was booked. Bond was set at $1,000,000.00

 

 

Police Investigate a Complaint of an Assault on a Child

A 38-year-old woman reported an assault on a child at the 2300 block of Morris Street to the Corpus Christi Police Department Wednesday afternoon. The 38-year-old woman told Officers she saw a man have inappropriate contact with a child in a vehicle at 12:45pm. The woman told Officers the vehicle left prior to law enforcement arrival. Officers have not located any victim or suspect in this case. Corpus Christi Police Detective are gathering information from witnesses and evidence which includes any video from the area in which this event occurred.

Officers are looking for a small grey, extended cab pickup. It is shown in the below photo as outlined by red arrows. The photos were taken on two different occasions, Tuesday at 11:44 a.m. and again today at 11:45 a.m. outside the Education Center on Morris St.

Wanted Person Daniel Martinez Arrested

A few hours after Corpus Christi Police Property Crime Detectives  obtained four arrest warrants for Daniel Martinez (12/24/1981), two warrants  for burglary of a building and two warrants  for theft,  he was found by officers.  These arrest warrants resulted from a search warrant that was executed at his home located at 1717 Nile Drive back on August 21.   Each warrant holds a $15,000 bond.

Officers stopped the 1999 red Dodge truck the suspect was driving in the 6400 block of Vincent Drive after they recognized him as a wanted person.  His truck was impounded.

This arrest is a result of an investigation that began on August 21 when the Corpus Christi Police Department Auto Theft Task Force executed a search warrant at 1717 Nile Drive and found several stolen items. Two trailers, two cement spreaders, two compressors, a welder, and other stolen equipment was found in the backyard and garage of the home.  No one was at home at the time officers  searched the home.

Two Arrested for Capital Murder

Corpus Christi Police Homicide Detectives have arrested Nancy Rae Martinez (02/22/1987) and Albert Villarreal (01/26/1987) following an investigation into the death of a six-year old child in their custody.
The female is the child’s mother, it is unknown what the male’s relationship is to the child but he did live in the home.

CCFD EMS responded to the home in the 2500 block of Fig Street at 8:25 PM on August 27 for a six-year old male having a seizure. The child was transported to Driscoll Children’s Hospital where he later died. Corpus Christi Police Officers were notified of the death after some bruises were found on the child’s body. Officers responded to the child’s home located in the 2500 block of Fig St. to begin an investigation. CCPD Criminal Investigations Division was contacted and they responded to the scene, as well as the Crime Scene Unit. At this time it is unknown how many people were at the home at the time of the call. Officers did find two other children in the home ages three and eight and they appeared to be fine. They were both put into the custody of Child Protective Services.

Both Martinez and Villarreal were booked into the City Detention Center.

Masked Man Removes Cash

Corpus Christi Police Officers took a report for a burglary to a business located at 8001 Interstate 37 South, C.C. Freightliner Inc.  Suspects appeared to have made entry onto the property after cutting a hole in the back fence, then the suspects made entry into the shop by knocking out a back window.   The shop foreman told officers they locked up the shop on 08/08/14 around 11:10 p.m. and when they returned on 08/09/14 they found the window broken, the one cash registers on the counter in the shop had been broken into and cash removed.  A second registered was opened in the front of the business and rifled through but there was no cash inside.  The estimated damage to the property and value of items stolen was almost $1000.  Video images captured from the business show a male, 5’6” to 5’8” tall , heavy set, wearing a mask, gloves and a tan baseball cap.  Anyone who can identify the individual responsible, or has any additional information about this crime should call the Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives at 886-2840. UPDATE:

Detectives informed us that CDC Jail Booking Jesus Ruben Balli Garcia was booked into CDC late Sunday evening on the warrant for Aggravated Assault. 

UPDATE: 

At approximately 7:00 pm our office was notified that a man fitting the description of Jesus Ruben Balli Garcia (10/28/88) was being detained by Border Patrol agents. Agents informed us that the man had become lost in the brush near the Sarita Checkpoint and called 911 for help. The U.S. Border Patrol (USBP) officers were able to locate him. At approximately 10:00 pm USBP officers confirmed to our office that the person they had detained was Jesus Garcia.  He was arrested on the Aggravated Assault warrant and taken to the Kenedy County Sheriff’s Office. Detectives continue to work with the USBP and the Kenedy Co. Sheriff’s office regarding the case.
