Patrol Report September 17, 2015

“Bravo” District

A 12-year-old girl reported to Corpus Christi Police that a strange man followed and harassed her on her way home from school Wednesday afternoon on the 6000 block of Lipes Boulevard.
The twelve-year-old girl told Officers she walked home after school when a man in his late 20s or early 30s started to follow her. The 12-year-old girl told Officers she attempted to ignore the man, but the man continued to talk to her and eventually began making sexual comments about her appearance. The 12-year-old girl told Officers she became frighten so she ran. A 36-year-old woman told Officers she saw this happen as she drove by on the street and she stopped to assist the 12-year-old girl. The 36-year-old woman told Officers the man drove off and was last seen going towards Staples. The 12-year-old girl described the man’s vehicle as a dark grey or black small hatchback styled vehicle. Officers never located the man and the 12-year-old girl safely made it to her 46-year-old father.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 28-year-old Mario Hernandez (6/4/1987) for driving while intoxicated after he caused a vehicle crash in a parking lot located at 5850 Everhart Road Thursday morning.
Corpus Christi Police responded to a compliant of a vehicle crash in a parking lot at 2:12am and the caller believed the operator of the vehicle was intoxicated. Officers arrived and found a blue 2014 Audi S4 with obvious front end damage and the Officers contacted Hernandez who operated the Audi. Officers determined that Hernandez had struck a tree and there were no reported injuries. Officers believed that Hernandez was intoxicated from alcohol consumption and arrested Hernandez for Driving While Intoxicated. Officers impounded the Audi and took Hernandez to the hospital for a medical evaluation. Once cleared from the hospital, Hernandez was delivered to the city detention center and Officers collected a specimen of breath from Hernandez.

Offense: Burglary of a Habitation (Penal Code Section 30.02) First Degree Felony

A 50-year-old man reported a burglary while he was present in his home on the 800 block of Omaha Drive Tuesday night.
The 50-year-old man told Officers at about 11 pm, the 50-year-old man answered a knock on his door. The 50-year-old man told Officers he is confined to a wheelchair and a man and woman pushed their way into his apartment. The 50-year-old man told Officers the woman pinned him to the chair while the man stole a TV, Xbox, and cell phone. The 50-year-old man described the woman as a female in her 20’s, 5 foot 3 inches tall, about 150 pounds, and man as a male in his 20’s, 170 pounds, and black hair. No injuries were reported and the two suspects remain at large.

A 24 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his ex-girlfriend attacked him with a baseball bat.

The victim told Officers that his ex-girlfriend was drinking alcohol and was intoxicated while both of them were in the front yard of a home located in the 400 block of Mediterranean Drive.

The victim said that she was trying to show off in front of other friends by talking down to the victim. She also spit on him. She then went inside the home, and grabbed an aluminum bat and struck the victim on the head. The female then got in a car and left.

The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS to be treated for injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Officers know the female suspects name, but she was not located.

Patrol Report 09/10/2015

Corpus Christi Police responded to an audible alarm at the Jalisco Meat Market, located in the 2700 block of South Staples Street.

When Officers arrived they observed a piece of plywood which had been pulled off a broken window to a neighboring building. The Officers knew that the plywood had been used to secure a previously broken window to a business next to the meat market.

In that burglary on September 2nd, the suspects had gained entry through the same vacant business and cut through a wall in order to gain entry to the Jalisco Meat Market.

This morning the suspects made entry again through the vacant building next door.  This time when they made entry into the meat market, the alarm sounded and suspects fled the scene without taking anything.

Officers are still looking for the suspects of the first burglary on  and the suspects from this morning’s break in.

Police Want Public Help to Search for Missing Man

Event: Missing Person

The Corpus Christi Police Department would like help from the public to locate 31-year-old Patrick Henry Harris who was last seen on August 20, 2015 on the 700 block of Texan Trail.

Harris left his home on August 20th and has not returned and family members are worried for his welfare. Harris has several medical conditions such as an enlarged heart and cerebral palsy and he requires medication. Detectives believe Harris may be in Downtown Corpus Christi around the missions on Leopard Street.

Harris is described as a white male, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 186 pounds with brown hair, blue eyes, and has a tattoo of a cross with the word “Patrick” inside the cross. Anyone with information to help locate Harris should call Detective Garcia at 886-2849.

Update:
Harris was located safe and well after a person saw news reported and phoned Police.

An employee of the Schlotzskys Sandwich Shop, located at 4218 South Alameda Street, called Corpus Christi Police after they arrived at work and found the business had been burglarized.

The employee told Officers that entry was made into the business through the ceiling by removing roof paneling.

Once inside, the suspect ransacked the office and removed money from the safe.

It was estimated that more than $20,000 in damage was done to the business.

At this time, no suspects have been identified or arrested.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer conducted a traffic stop on a semi-tractor pulling a flatbed trailer with a load after the driver hit a parked vehicle in the 900 block of North Shoreline Boulevard and drove off.

The Officer was contacted by a witness who saw the 18 wheeler hit a parked Volkswagen Golf with no one inside. The driver’s side mirror was broken off, and the front driver fender of the car had damage from the crash.

The witness said the tractor trailer hit the vehicle, then parked, and the driver got out. He then returned to the truck and drove off.

Officers located the 18 wheeler traveling north on Interstate 37 near Water Street, and stopped it. The Officer contacted the driver, Billy Dickerson (07/22/1958), and after an investigation determined he was intoxicated. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated and his entire truck and trailer and its load were impounded.

A 47 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his girlfriend tried to stab him in the stomach following a disturbance between the two in the parking lot of Bob Hall Pier on Padre Island.

The man told Officers that he got into a verbal disturbance over some missing money with his girlfriend. The disturbance escalated into a physical confrontation when the girlfriend grabbed a flat head screwdriver and tried stabbing her boyfriend with it. The man was nicked across his stomach and did not suffer any serious injury.

The man grabbed his girlfriend and tried to restrain her, but she bit him on his right thigh. The man was then able to hold her down until Officers arrived.

CCFD EMS responded and treated the victim at the scene for minor injuries.

The girlfriend, Cindy L. Patrick (10/24/1972) was arrested for aggravated assault.

Corpus Christi Police responded to the report of a shooting in the courtyard area of an apartment located at 933 McDonald Street.

When Officers arrived they determined that a 38 year old man had been shot once on the side of his abdomen by an 18 year old male suspect that he knew.

The investigation revealed that there was an ongoing dispute between the two men and the younger man had threatened the older man during a phone call earlier. The older man told him to come on over, and when the suspect showed up a short time later, he was armed with a handgun.

After a physical fight, the suspect went and got the weapon from the vehicle that he had driven over. The victim was shot one time on his right side by the man.

The offender fled the scene and was not located.

Officers did locate the weapon used in the shooting in a alley behind 709 Flour Bluff Drive.

The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

Corpus Christi Police responded to an alarm at the Food Mart, located at 11001 Leopard Street, and when Officers arrived they found the front glass door had been shattered.

An employee met Officers at the store and when they went inside they found that the suspects had entered the store, and opened the cash register. Luckily employees had left the register empty, so no cash was stolen.

A hammer believed to have been used by the suspects to smash the door glass and force open the register was found inside the business.

Officers are attempting to work with the business owner to download the store video surveillance system.

At this time there is no information on the suspects, and damage to the business was estimated at $1,000.

A 50 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his girlfriend poured gasoline on him and his vehicle after a disturbance in the driveway of their home in the 2400 block of Winnebago Street.

Officers arrived and were told by the man that he left the home and went to the grocery store. When he returned, and was still in his truck, the female approached him and wanted to be let in.

When the man refused to let her in his truck, she grabbed a can of gas that was in the bed of the truck and she began to pour it all over the hood and roof of the vehicle. The man said that the gasoline began coming in his window soaking him, and burning his skin.

Officers arrested the female, Alisia Lewis (08/25/1988), for aggravated assault.
