A female driver, passed out at a red light in the 2700 block of the Crosstown Freeway South Access Road, got the attention of a Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol.

The Officer pulled her patrol car next to the 2015 Nissan Versa and observed that it was running and the brake lights were on.  As the Officer was attempting to contact the driver, the car began to roll into the intersection with the female still passed out in the driver seat.

The Officer was able to wake the driver and stop the car.  After an investigation it was determined that the driver was intoxicated.

Officers arrested, Megan Anschuetz (02/11/1991), for driving while intoxicated and her car was impounded.

A 46 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after someone took several hundred dollars in cash from the front seat of his truck while it was parked at an apartment complex office building located at 5702 Timbergate Drive.

The man told Officers that he had just cashed a check at the bank for over $2300 and then went to the apartment complex leasing office.  While inside the office, a suspect broke out the driver side window of his 2009 GMC Sierra truck and stole the cash that was in an envelope in the center console.

At this time, no suspects have been identified

A male driver, traveling the wrong way down a one-way street in a vehicle, was arrested for DWI after he almost collided with a Corpus Christi Police car in the 1200 block of Third Street.

The Officer observed the 1995 Chevrolet truck traveling toward him going the wrong direction on a one way street near the intersection of Third Street and Craig Street. In an attempt to get the driver to stop, the Officer activated the emergency lights on his patrol car.  The truck did stop momentarily but while the Officer was walking up to talk to the driver, the vehicle took off turning into a local business parking lot at 1201 Third Street.

The Officer ran back to his patrol car and attempted to catch up to the truck. When the truck reached the back of the private parking lot it had turned into it was stopped by a metal gate that was blocking the exit.

Once the truck was forced to stop because of the gate, Officers were able to contact the driver.

After an investigation it was determined that the driver, Michael Rodriguez (04/13/1972), was intoxicated. Mr. Rodriguez was charged with felony DWI when it was determined that he had several prior convictions for the same offense.  He was additionally charged with trying to elude police, a Class B Misdemeanor.

Corpus Christi Police were called to an alarm at a business, located at 5734 McArdle Road, and found the front glass shattered out.

Officers arrived and observed the front glass windows to the business had been broken out.  The front doors to the business remained locked.

Officers don’t believe the suspects made entry into the building.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol observed a man, wearing all dark clothing, riding a bicycle in the 1600 block of Lawnview Street, without a headlight.

When the Officer stopped the man on the bicycle she saw that he had pieces of broken glass all over his shirt and minor cuts and scratches on his hands and right elbow. While the man was looking for his identification card in a back pack he was carrying, he pulled out several $5 bills that also had blood on them.

During the investigation, the Officer found a prescription pill bottle that did not belong to the man inside of the backpack he was carrying.  The pill bottle had several pills in it.

The Officer also became aware that there was a call from a homeowner in the 500 block of Naples Street reporting a burglary to his vehicle.

After an investigation it was determined that the suspect on the bicycle had threw a brick into the front passenger side window of a 2011 Ford Escape belonging to the homeowner at 530 Naples Street while it was parked in the driveway of his home.   Once the window was smashed, the suspect stole $40 cash in $5 bills that was sitting on the center console inside his car.   The Officer believes this is when the suspect cut his hands.

When the Officer went to investigate the name on the prescription pill bottle that the suspect had in his possession she found that the suspect had also entered an unlocked Dodge truck parked in front of 363 Naples Street and took the pill bottle from inside.  Officers returned the prescription pills to the owner of the truck.

The suspect, Jacob Ramirez (06/15/1998), was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and possession of dangerous drugs, all Class A misdemeanors.

Corpus Christi Police arrested a female after she used a bat to assault a man in the 1700 block of Winnebago Street.

Officers found the 42 year old male victim waiting at a convenience store, located at South Staples Street and Leopard Street.  The man was with his 46 year old wife.  The wife told Officers that the female suspect had hit her husband with a bat several times and had also attempted to hit her while they were all at T.C. Ayers Park on Winnebago Street.

Officers observed the man had a broken left arm and he was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS.

A short time later, Officers were able to locate the female suspect, and the bat she used to assault the man, at the park.  The female suspect, Kanika Lindsey (08/26/1984), was arrested for aggravated assault

Corpus Christi Police arrested a man after he threatened his mother while he was at her apartment, located at 802 Barry Street.

Officers arrived and found a hole in the wall of the apartment that was caused by the man hitting it with his fist. The mother told Officers after her son hit the wall, he grabbed a handgun, that he had just purchased, out of the case and began waving it around. When his mother told him to put it down he said he would shoot it whenever he wants and then he pointed the gun at her.

Luckily, no one was injured, and Officers arrived in time to arrest the son, Darrin Greenwood (08/15/1997), for aggravated assault and recovered the .380 caliber handgun.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating a case in which several shots were fired after a large disturbance outside a home in the 3600 block of Beauregard Drive.

Officers arrived and found 11 bullet casings outside the home, and luckily no one was injured.

Officers did not get much cooperation from the ten people at the scene, but did determine that a fight started outside the home following a graduation party. The fight led to someone firing off several rounds from a hand gun.

Officers believe that the suspects responsible for firing the gun fled the scene in an orange Chevrolet Camaro.

At this time, no suspects have been identified.

A 32 year old male cab driver was robbed at gunpoint after he dropped off a fare in the 2300 block of Buford Street.

Corpus Christi Police arrived and were told by the cab driver that he had picked up a male and female together at a convenience store on Ayers Street. He drove them both to an apartment complex on Buford Street. When the cab stopped, the female got out and told the driver she was going inside an apartment to get the cab fare while the male waited in the cab.

When the female did not return to pay the $35 cab fare, the male who was still with the cab driver, pulled out a shotgun from a bag he had.  The male suspect pushed the cab driver in the chest and told him to leave.

The cab driver, who was not injured, left the area and contacted the police.

Officers believe they have identified both the male and female involved in this case, however, the male suspect has not been located.

A 17 year old male was pistol whipped and a 19 year old male was shot by a suspect after a disturbance outside of an apartment located at 2022 Treyway Lane.  

Officers arrived and were told that the two male victims were walking to a friend’s house when the suspect walked up to them and pointed a handgun at them.  The suspect then told the victims he had something for them and threatened to shoot them.

The suspect then used the grip of the pistol he had and hit the 17 year old man in the face, cutting his chin. The suspect then shot the other the 19 year old man in the left thigh.

Following the assault, the suspect fled to a nearby apartment at 2022 Treyway Lane.  Officers were able to locate him and take him into custody.

The suspect, Michael Sotello (05/26/1998), was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

The male victim that was shot, was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound to his leg.  The other victim refused medical treatment.

A man who came home from work early found a burglar inside his residence, located at 4433 South Cornelia Circle.

Officers arrived at the home and found the female burglary suspect sitting on the couch with the homeowner watching over her. The homeowner told Officers that he had arrived home and went inside.  This is when he noticed that his daughter’s bedroom door was closed.  When he opened the door, he found a female standing there holding two watches and a pair of head phones in her hands. The female dropped the items and agreed to go to the living room and sit on the couch and wait until police arrived.

Officers determined the female suspect, Jaime Lacombe (07/01/1992), had made entry into the home through a window on the back side of the house.

She was arrested for burglary, a second degree felony.
