A 40 year old female motel employee called Corpus Christi Police after a female suspect came into the office of the Val Stay Inn, located at 6255 Interstate 37 Access Road South, and assaulted her.

The motel employee told Officers that she was sitting at the cashier desk counting money when the female approached her and attempted to strangle her with a white rope or string that she was carrying.  During a struggle between the two, the female suspect  grabbed a handful of money from the drawer.  She then fled the office with a small amount of cash in her hand.

The victim refused any medical treatment, and Officers have not located the female suspect.

A 28 year old man was arrested after a Texas Parks and Wildlife Warden witnessed a road rage incident in the 12900 block Interstate 37 north.

The Game Warden told Corpus Christi Police that he saw a blue Ford F250 truck tailgating a white Chevrolet truck almost touching the rear bumper.  He then saw the blue truck hit the rear end of the white truck causing it to spin out of control and to hit the concrete median.

The driver of the blue truck attempted to leave the scene, but the Game Warden was able to stop the truck and detain the driver.

The 27 year old driver of the truck that hit the wall was transported to Northwest Hospital for minor injuries to his back.

The victim told Officers that the aggressive driver had gotten upset when he entered the freeway from the on ramp and moved in front of him. The victim tapped his break twice to try and get the aggressive driver off his tail, but he said that the driver, instead, accelerated and hit him from the rear causing him to lose control.

Do You Know These Two Thieves?

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of two suspects that they believe stole computer equipment from the New York Life business, located at 5350 South Staples Street, on June 15 at about 3 PM.

Employees at the business told Officers that the suspect with the red cap walks into the office, while the suspect with the blue cap is watching from outside.  The suspect with the red cap enters a hallway storage room inside of the office.  He is then seen a short time later walking out with two cases, one in each hand.  The two large silver metal cases each contained a laptop computer, a printer, a web camera, and a finger printing kit.  They are worth $5000. The suspect in the blue cap leaves the area following the male in the red cap.

Detectives were able to obtain camera images from the security camera system that shows both males enter the office front doors.  They were both wearing white t-shirts, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

The suspects in this case was not located and Detectives need your help in identifying these individuals.  Anyone with information about this case should call the Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives at 886-2840. Police Investigate the 12th Homicide in 2015

The Corpus Christi Police are investigating the twelfth homicide in 2015 after a dead man was found in an apartment located at 1520 Arlington Drive  Friday afternoon.

The Corpus Christi Police responded to a call for a welfare concern at 4:39pm Friday afternoon after a concerned person was not able to contact a particular man. The Officers worked with the Apartment maintenance crew and made entry into an apartment where the man was believed to be located and the Officers did find a man who may be about 43 years of age. Unfortunately, the Officers found the man had obvious injuries and the man was dead. The Officers believe the death was possibly the result of a criminal action, so the Officers made sure no other person was inside the apartment, then summoned Detectives to conduct an investigation as a homicide.

Detectives have contacted nearby people to ascertain more information about this death and presently do not have a suspect description to provide to the public. Detectives believe this is the twelfth homicide in Corpus Christi in 2015 and would like help from the public to learn more about what or who may have caused the death of this man.

Update:
Corpus Christi Police Detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of Sean Beasely (10/26/1993) for murder related to this case. Beasely was in jail on an unrelated criminal charge at the time the warrant was obtained and the bond amount for the murder warrant was set at $500,000 dollars.

The Texas Sealife Center and South Texas Botanical Gardens will present Coastal and Aquatic Wildlife Education from 1pm-3pm at the Island Substation at Tortuga Dunes. Bring the family; there is no fee for the event.
Senior Officer Luis Flores has worked hard to arrange events each Saturday at the substation for the public. Go out and see him and take advantage of the great opportunities!

A 34 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after a handgun was stolen from his vehicle.

The victim told Officers that he may have left his 2012 Toyota Tundra truck unlocked while it was parked in the 14400 block of Chantilly Drive.  There was no damage done and no forced entry into the truck, but the suspects did take a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun from inside the center console.

At this time, no suspects have been identified in this case.

Over 70 firearms have been reported stolen from the inside of vehicles this year in the city.  Less than 20 of those firearms have been recovered.

Investigators Want Public Help to Identify Remains Found On Beach

The Corpus Christi Police Department and the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office would like help from the public to identify the remains of a man discovered on the beach on April 22, 2015.

The Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released an image of the portion of the spine found with a plate that was surgically placed. Detectives have learned that the bones discovered April 22 are the remains of a man between the ages of 55 to 70 at the time of death, but have not been able to identify the man. Detectives hope that by releasing the image of the plate, someone may be able to provide information about a missing person who had such a surgery in the late 1980’s or early 1990’s. Detectives believe the remains may have been in the dunes for as much as the past 25 years. The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office has not determined a cause of death as of June 25, 2015. Anyone who may know a person who had this type of surgery should call Detectives at 886-2840 to help identify the remains.

A 28-year-old man called Corpus Christi Police on April 22, 2015 after he found some human bones in the dunes  Beach Access Road 4 on Padre Island. The 28-year-old man directed Officers to the bones. The Nueces County Medical Examiner was called and he confirmed that the bones were human and that they had been there for a while.

Officers continue to work with the Medical Examiner to investigate if any crime has been committed. Detectives understand that some members of the public may want to provide information and stay anonymous which can be accomplished if they call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS (8477).

The Corpus Christi Crime Stoppers are working with the San Antonio Crime Stoppers who would like help from the public to identify a woman who robbed the River City Federal Credit Union located at 610 Agusta, in San Antonio on June 17, 2015.

Wednesday, June 17th, 2015 at 12:40 pm, the unidentified woman entered the River City Federal Credit Union located at 610 Agusta, walked up to the teller station, brandished a knife, and gave  a note which demanded money. The Suspect took the money and calmly walked out the front double door and fled east from the Credit Union. The woman is described as a White, female, heavy build, wearing a black “Tap Out” style t-shirt, blue jeans, and a black baseball type cap. San Antonio Detectives believe the woman responsible for this robbery may be from the Corpus Christi area.

16 Year Old Driver Crashes Into Car Dealership

A 16 year old driver caused over $100,000 in damages to new trucks and property at a local car dealership after he crashed this morning.

The driver was traveling south in his 2003 Chevrolet truck on the Crosstown Access Road when he attempted to pass a friend of his in another truck.  The driver lost control and spun into the Allen Samuels car dealership located at 2118 South Padre Island Drive.

His truck struck a fence, a light pole, two American flag poles and five brand new 2015 Chevrolet trucks that were on the dealership lot.  A manager with Allen Samuels Chevrolet estimated that each truck was valued at $60,000.

The driver was treated by CCFD EMS at the scene for only minor injuries.

At this time, Officers with the Traffic Division continue to investigate this crash and will determine if any charges will be filed against the driver.

Suspect Steals From Three Separate Stores

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a suspect that they believe stole several power tools from three different Home Depot Stores in Corpus Christi.

The first theft occurred on June 19 at about 12:45 PM at the Home Depot located at 5041 South Padre Island Drive.  Employees told Corpus Christi Police that a man walked into the store and removed a Makita Drill and bit set valued at $279.  The man walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise.

The second theft occurred on June 20 at about 2:55 PM at the Home Depot located at 4038 South Port Avenue.  Employees told Corpus Christi Police that a man walked into the store and removed a Milwaukee brand hammer and impact combination kit valued at $798.  The man walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise.

The third theft occurred on June 22 at 3 PM at the Home Depot located at 13202 Leopard Street. Employees told Corpus Christi Police that a man walked into the store and removed a Milwaukee drill kit valued at $399.  The man walked out of the store without paying for the merchandise.

When Detectives reviewed surveillance video they determined that all three thefts appear to be committed by the same suspect.   The suspect is a Hispanic male, between 40 and 50 years of age.  He was wearing a light colored long sleeve button down shirt, blue jeans and light colored tennis shoes in all three thefts.  He is seen with a cap on in the theft that occurred on Leopard Street.
