Amber Alert Issued for Missing 6 year old

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to 2002 Yorktown in reference to a missing child. Officers contacted the adult relative of the child who stated that she got up at approximately 4:30am to check something in the kitchen. When she checked on the children that were staying with her she noticed that 6 year old Kloe Donohoo   was gone. She then discovered that the suspect 19 year old Austin Carlin and her van were also gone. Police are actively searching for this child.

The van is a white Dodge Caravan LP 6BZXV. If you have any information or you spot the vehicle and missing child, please call 911.

UPDATE.

At approximately 11:20am Kloe Donohoo was located safe and sound. A DPS Trooper was on I-10 near Ozona Texas and observed the vehicle. He stopped the vehicle and took the suspect into custody without incident. Corpus Christi Police Detectives are on the way to scene to interview the suspect and facilitate the reunion of Kloe and her parents.

The Corpus Christi Police Department would like to thank all those who assisted in the recover of Kloe. A press conference is in the works and will planned later today.

Robbery Suspect Leaves Valentine’s Wishes

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a suspect they believe is involved in two separate armed robberies that both occurred in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 15. A clerk told officers that a male suspect entered the Stripes Store, located at 5645 Kostoryz Road, and went straight up to the counter, displayed a knife, and demanded cash. When the clerk hesitated, the suspect slammed the knife down on the counter. The clerk then handed the suspect cash from the register.  Before leaving the suspect threw a $1 bill back at the clerk and said “Happy Valentine’s Day.”

Officers also believe this same suspect may have been involved in a separate armed robbery 20 minutes prior to this at the Texas Star located at 5636 Weber Road.  At this time there are no images of the suspect at that location but the clerk told officers that the suspect entered the store covering his face and demanding money. The suspect slapped a large knife on the store counter and pointed it at the clerk. Once the suspect had the cash from the register he said “Happy Valentine’s Day” and left out the front door.

Detectives were able to obtain camera images from the stores security system that shows a male, with a bald head, large build, about 5`8” tall and 180 pounds.

The suspect in this case was not located and Detectives need your help in identifying this individual.  Anyone with information about this case should call the Corpus Christi Police Detectives at 886-2840. Officers Complete Search Of Churchill St. Home

Detectives with the Corpus Christi Police Narcotics unit executed a search warrant at 3001 Churchill Street after the Criminal Investigation Division and the Identification Division completed their examination of the crime scene regarding the shooting of the three SWAT officers yesterday.

The narcotics officers returned to perform the search warrant yesterday afternoon and they seized 16.21 grams of powdered cocaine, 22.71 grams of crack cocaine, 15.67 grams of Alprazolam, 4.58 grams of Tramadol, and 1.7 grams of marijuana. They also confiscated over $600 in cash. Officers arrested Santiago Garcia (12/07/1984) and he has been charged with Manufacturing and Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Dangerous Drugs.

The City of Corpus Christi Code Enforcement also responded to the scene and found the resident was stealing water and the utilities enforcement disconnected the water meter. The Gas Department responded to the scene and found the resident to also be stealing gas. The Gas Department shut off the natural gas supply and removed the gas meter to the home. The electrical system at the home was deemed to be dangerous and A.E.P. officials removed the electrical meter.

Code Enforcement is also opening a case for Minimum Standards, Keeping Clear Sidewalks, Curbs & Gutters, Open Storage, Litter & Solid Waste and substandard structure at the home.

Corpus Christi Police and Fire Department units responded to 1025 West Point Road, the Church of Christ for a fire.  Officers arrived and found the church was engulfed in flames.

Officers believe that the fire started outside on the west side of the church.

Arson investigators from the fire department are currently investigating this suspicious fire.

Homicide at Fishing Pier

Date: Thursday, February 20, 2015, 2:22am Location: 11645 SPID Offense: Murder Case Number: 1502200012 Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to the CosWay fishing pier in reference to a shooting. Responding officers located a 37 year old male victim who had been shot several times. The officers began CPR but the victim did not survive his wounds. CCPD homicide detectives are interviewing witnesses.

At approximately 4:41am officers were contacted at 321 John Sartain, The Main Police station, by a subject claiming to be involved in the shooting. The 29 year old male suspect was arrested for this latest homicide.

Man Commits Bank Robbery On Morgan Avenue

Corpus Christi Police are investigating a Bank Robbery that happened at 2611 Morgan Avenue Thursday morning. No injuries were reported.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint that a man took money by force from a teller at 11:29am. The bank employee told Officers that an unknown man went into the bank, presented a  note to the teller to demand cash, and then took money from the teller and walked away from the bank west on Morgan Avenue. The bank employee told Officers the man never presented a weapon and described the man as a man in his late 30’s in age and wore a dark blue ball cap with a red bill, a mustache, tan shirt and blue jeans and carried a blue lunch bag.  Bank employees provided images of the man to Detectives and the man remains at large.

Suspect Booked For Attempted Capital Murder

This morning at 8:40 AM the Corpus Christi Police  SWAT team was preparing to make entry into a home at 3001 Churchill Street to execute a narcotics arrest and search warrant,

As officers were making entry a suspect inside the home opened fire on the SWAT team members. Three officers were injured by the gunfire.

Sr. Police Officer Steven Ruebelmann (6-year veteran) received two gunshot wounds. One to his wrist and one to his hand.

Officer Andrew Jordan (4-year veteran) received a gunshot wound to his upper leg and one to his forearm.

Officer Steven Brown (2-year officer) received a superficial wound to his right calf and forearm.

All officers were taken to Christus Spohn MMC for treatment.  Officers Jordan and Ruebelmann are still there being treated.  Officer Jordan did undergo surgery earlier and is stable at this time.  Officer Ruebelmann is in a private room recovering.
Officer Brown has been treated and released.

Three suspects were originally detained by officers inside the home.  Ray Rosas (06/03/1968) has been arrested for three counts of attempted capital murder.  The suspect that was named in the arrest warrant has not been charged with shooting at the officers.  He however does still face charges for the original arrest warrant.  He has yet to be booked into the City Detention Center.  The third suspect, a female, was also detained.  At this time, no charges are expected to be filed against her for the shooting.

 

3 Officers Shot While Serving Warrant

This morning at about 9am, while serving a Narcotics arrest and search warrant, our Narcotics and SWAT team were preparing to make entry into a home at 3001 Churchill.

As officers were making entry suspects within the home opened fire on the SWAT team members. Three officers were injured by the gunfire.

A 30 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he was assaulted and shot at by three men in the parking lot of an apartment complex located at 5701 Saratoga Boulevard.

The victim had a chipped tooth from where the suspects had hit him in the mouth with the butt of a pistol while he was sitting in a car with several other males. The victim said there was a dispute with a 23 year old male that he knows over a car title.  The victim told officers that he was held from behind while he sat in the front seat by two other males, he did not know, sitting in the back seat. After he was hit in the mouth with the gun, the suspect in the driver’s seat fired a shot from a handgun at him but missed.  The round struck a parked truck next to them. The victim was able to get out of the vehicle and hide until officers arrived.

Officers at the scene recovered a 9 millimeter caliber handgun they believe the suspect used in the parking lot. They believe the suspect may have tossed the weapon because it jammed and would not fire. The suspects all fled in a white Chevrolet Cavalier with the victim’s wallet.

The victim was able to give officers the name of the suspect that fired the gun at him however he was not located. He was treated at the scene by CCFD EMS for minor injuries.

Officers continue to investigate this case and no arrests have been made.

Versace Sunglasses Thief

Corpus Christi Police Detectives have released camera surveillance images of a suspect they believe is involved in a theft of several high priced Versace sunglasses on February 9.

A store employee of The Sunglasses Hut, located at La Palmera Mall, 5488 S. Padre Island Drive, called Corpus Christi Police after a man walked in and tried on a pair of women’s  Versace sunglasses. The male then stuck four pairs of sunglasses in the sleeves of his shirt, and ran out of the store. The total value of the four pair of Versace sunglasses was almost $950.

Detectives were able to obtain camera images from the stores security system that shows a male, 5’6” to 5’8” tall, medium build and clean shaven. He was wearing a light colored long sleeved button down shirt, blue jeans, dark tennis shoes, and a dark cap.

The suspect in this case was not located and Detectives need your help in identifying this individual.  Anyone with information about this case should call the Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives at 886-2840.
