Corpus Christi Police Financial Crimes detectives are looking for anyone who recognizes the male suspect in the photos. The suspect allegedly took Wells Fargo Visa cards from a mail box of the victim in front of his home which is located in the 5000 block of Lost Creek Drive. The suspect then used the credit cards at several different locations in the city charging up over $2600 worth of goods and services. The image of the suspect was obtained from one of the businesses where he used the stolen credit cards.  Anyone who can identify this individual, or has any additional information about this crime should call the Corpus Christi Police Financial Crimes Detectives at 886-2840. A 26 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police and reported that a 9mm Glock handgun that she placed in the center console of her 2013 Ford F150 truck was stolen. The victim said she is not sure when the gun was taken and that she only noticed it was missing earlier in the day. No forced entry to the truck was observed and the victim believes she may have left her truck doors unlocked.

Patrol Report October 14, 2014

Offense: Assault on a Public Servant

Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to the 900 block of Parkwood Place for a burglary to a vehicle that had just occurred. When officers arrived on Parkwood Place, witnesses there told them that the suspect who had broken into the car was at a home located in the 6000 block of Skyline Drive. When two officers approached the male suspect who was hiding outside of the home between two cars, they were attacked by the suspect. Both officers were hit in the face a couple of times by the suspect, and they all fell into a wooden fence, breaking several planks of wood. Officers were finally able to gain control of the suspect and arrest him.  Both officers received bumps, scrapes and bruises, and one officer was taken to Spohn Memorial for an injury to his knee and an elevated heart rate and blood pressure. The 25 year old male suspect was arrested and he also was admitted to the hospital for injuries. The suspect is facing two counts of assault on a peace officer, a third degree felony once he is medically cleared from the hospital. Officers are also investigating his involvement into the burglary to the vehicle that was parked on Parkwood Place.

Homicide – 4000 Bray

UPDATE: 

The suspect, Daniel Salazar (2.23.1959), was booked into the City Detention Center at 2:04 a.m. for Murder.

Location: 4000 Bray
Offense: Murder (PC 19.02) 1st Degree Felony
Case Number: 1410130150

On October 13, 2014 at approximately 9:14 PM officers were dispatched to 4000 Bray in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival officers found a 30-year-old male inside the house that had been shot twice, once in the leg and once in the upper torso. He was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital. At approximately 9:45 PM the victim succumbed to his wounds.

Officers were advised that the victim, who is an ex-boyfriend of the suspect’s daughter, came over to the residence and a scuffle ensued with the father. The 30-year-old victim was shot twice during the scuffle.

A 55-year-old male is being detained and questioned at this time. Detectives are still in the process of investigating this incident.

As more information becomes available it will be released through the public information office.

Detectives Seek Help To Catch Camera Thieves

The Corpus Christi Police Property Crimes Detectives would like help from the public to identify and locate three people who may have information about stolen cameras. A 51-year-old man reported a theft that happened on March 31, 2014 at the Crossbridge Fellowship located at 3002 Buffalo Street to the Corpus Christi Police. The 51-year-old man told Officers several cameras with a total value of $1,200 dollars were taken without consent by some unknown person. The 51-year-old man provided Officers with the final images before the cameras disappeared. Corpus Christi Police Detectives have images of three people and would like help from the public to identify these individuals.

Suspects Break Into Business And Take Tools

An employee of the 4 Season’s Equipment located at 430 South Padre Island Drive reported that the front doors of the business had been pried open.

Camera surveillance from the property shows two males driving a dark full size Dodge 4 door truck, pull into the parking lot, get out and look inside the front door with flashlights. They are then scene going to the side of the building and one of the men takes a rock and throws it at the camera that is recording them until it breaks. The suspects then pry the front doors of the business open and enter the showroom area. While inside the suspects steal grass trimmers, chain saws and a laptop computer. The estimated total dollar amount stolen was over $2,700 worth of property.

Both suspects appear to between twenty to thirty years old. One of the males is about 5’8” to 5’10” tall and weighs about 180 pounds wearing a button down shirt, cap, and cargo shorts. The second suspect appears to be 5’6” to 5’8” tall weighing about 170 pounds.  He is wearing a cap, black t-shirt and cargo shorts.

Offense: Theft of a Motor Vehicle                                      (PC 31.07       State Jail Felony)

A 63 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he pulled into a gas station to fill up and his truck was stolen.
The victim stated he was low on gas and parked his 1992 Ford F150 truck at the gas pump and walked into the Snappy Food Store located at 5626 Leopard St. to pay and when he walked out his truck was gone.  The man said his truck was turned off, and that he had the keys in his pocket.
About twenty minutes later officers found the stolen truck parked at the gas pumps of a Stripes Store located at 3238 Buddy Lawrence.  A witness at that store told officers that he had helped the driver push the truck to the gas pumps because it had run out of gas.
The suspect is described by the witness as a young Hispanic male in his twenties about 5` 7″ tall with tattoos on both arms and near his right eye.  He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and red shorts.
The truck was returned to the owner, and officers are still investigating this case.

CCPD Looking for this Vehicle Burglary Quartet

OFFENSE: Burglary of a Vehicle   (PC 30.04 Class A Misdemeanor)
CASE # 1409220046

Corpus Christi Police Detectives are looking for four males that have been involved in several burglaries to vehicles in the 4600 block of Ocean Drive.  Detectives believe the suspects committed these offenses sometime between 10:15 pm on September 21 and 8 am on September 22.

Camera surveillance that has been edited in time show four male suspects walking around the parking lot and one of the suspects enters a black Lincoln town car and removes property from inside.  All the males are then observed getting into another vehicle and leaving the scene. Corpus Christi Detectives are asking anyone that may recognize any of these males to contact the police department.

A 33 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police Officers after she was stabbed following an argument over a curling iron at her home in the 4700 block of Wynona Drive. The victim told officers that another female she only knows as “Michelle” came to her door stating “Give me back my curling iron” before she punched the victim and a fight broke out. The victim stated as they fought the suspect pulled out a pocket knife and proceeded to stab the victim in the face under the right eye, her hand, and in the chest. The victim stated she was able to grab the knife out of the suspects hand and the suspect then ran back to her vehicle and jumped into the passenger seat. The suspect vehicle was driven away by a male named “Joey.” CCFD EMS treated the victim at the scene and she refused to be transported to the hospital. Officers are still investigating this case, and no one has been arrested.

Corpus Christi Police Officers responded to a stabbing at a home located in the 1100 block of Barton St. A 42 year old male victim told officers that he was upset with another man for shining a flashlight in his face. The victim said that the man then stabbed his truck tire causing it to go flat. After this occurred the victim confronted the man and a fight ensued in the grass near the street. During the fight the man pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim once in his left leg.  The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Medical Center by CCFD EMS.  Officers were able to recover the knife, and arrested Joshua Chambless (10/19/1983), for aggravated assault, a second degree felony.
