Chief and POA President Thank Corpus Christi

Thank You Corpus Christi!

I cannot thank the citizens of Corpus Christi enough for their outpouring of concern, well wishes, thoughts and prayers for our two injured Officers. Our department’s strength comes from the support of our community and the effectiveness of our members. I can see that we have an abundance of both. As a Police Chief, I cannot ask for much more than that.

As for my Officers, they are trained and given tools to survive in situations such as the shooting on Congressional. The tools that were available, for immediate medical care, were vital to the survival of our two Officers. I, along with the CC Police Officers’ Association President Scott Leeton, say thank you to our Crime Control District Board, the Corpus Christi Police Foundation and our Citizen’s Police Academy Alumni Association. Over the years these organizations have funded much-needed items for our Officers that are not in our yearly budget.  From flashlights to knives and the “Go Bag” that was utilized yesterday, they have greatly enhanced our opportunity to better serve our community. We will continue to do so and hope that our partnership will grow with our citizens and our police organizations.

Thank you again,

Floyd Simpson – Chief of Police and  Scott Leeton – President, Police Officers’ Association
