Wanted Subject from Beeville Police Dept.

The Beeville Police Department’s Homicide and Robbery Division is asking for the public’s help in locating Javier Omar Hernandez 2.15.89.

Hernandez was involved in a home invasion robbery in Beeville on Monday November 14, 2011.  Hernandez is 22 years old and is described as 5’10” with black hair and brown eyes.

There is currently an active Aggravated Robbery warrant for his arrest.

Jewelry Theft Suspect

Property Crime Detectives need your help in identifying the individual responsible for a theft from a local department store.

On Monday evening a unidentified male subject asked the store clerk to view a diamond ring valued at over $2000.00. When the clerk handed him the ring the subject took the ring and left the store without paying for the item.

He is described as a hispanic male with a thin build. At the time of the theft he was wearing a black ball cap, black shirt, jeans and white tennis shoes.

Copper Theft Suspect

Investigators with the Property Crimes Unit need your help in identifying the individual who vandalized and stole a commercial grade flow preventer from a local apartment complex.

The subject is described as a medium built male, wearing a light-colored shirt and jeans. He was seen arriving at the location as a passenger in a dark-colored four door vehicle.

Infant and Mother Unharmed, DWI Driver Arrested

Occurred on 12/22/11, 9:16 p.m.  DWI with a Child/Minor Accident   5300 Weber     1112200158 

Officers responded to the area for an accident in which the driver fled, leaving behind an infant with her 25-year-old mother.  Upon their arrival, Officers contacted the mother, who along with the child was being treated by CCFD Emergency Personnel. 

Further investigation revealed that the driver Gilbert Colunga (03/13/85) was traveling east on Tiger and as he turned right onto Weber, he lost control of his green 2000 Ford Crown Victoria and hit a palm tree. 

Colunga fled on foot, but was quickly found by Officers in the 4000 block of Manhattan Drive and returned to the accident scene where he was positively identified as  the driver. 

Colunga who appeared to be intoxicated was not administered Standard Field Sobriety Tests due to being involved in an accident.  He was medically cleared and a Blood Draw taken.  Colunga was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated with a Child.

And The Lights Went Out

An AEP Supervisor reported to Officers that a transformer station had been vandalized causing a large power outage early this morning.  The supervisor told the Officer that entry had been gained when the suspect or suspects cut through a fence near an adjacent grocery store.

Approximately 110 feet of copper ground wire was stolen from several poles causing the transformer to be ungrounded, resulting in the power outage.

AEP reported the estimated cost for repairs is $250,000.00.  At this time, there is no suspect information.

Investigators with the Forgery Unit are asking for your help in identifying the individual responsible for using a stolen credit card at a local Home Depot.

The subject is described as a white male in his early twenties, 5′ 8″ tall, 150 lbs.  At the time of the theft he was wearing a black ball cap, shades, a white jacket with black designs on it, black jeans, and black tennis shoes.

Clerk Frightened, but Uninjured in Robbery

Occurred on 12/19/11, 9:50 p.m.  Aggravated Robbery   2838 S. Padre Island Drive    1112190155

Officers responded to the Gulf Port Inn for a robbery and contacted the 33-year-old clerk who reported a White male walked into the store and demanded money.  The victim told Officers it appeared as if was the suspect was armed with a weapon, keeping his hand in his jacket pocket.

The victim complied with his demand and the suspect fled out the door with an undetermined amount of money.

The suspect is described as a White male, 28 to 32 years of age, 5’6” to 5’7” feet tall and weighing 120 to 140 lbs.  He was last seen wearing a dark piece of cloth on his face along with a purple and black hoodie.

Drunk Driver Stopped by Tree

Officers responded to the area for an accident in which a purple 1995 Mercury Cougar struck a tree.    Upon their arrival, Officers contacted the driver Keith G. Kaufman (05/31/89) who appeared intoxicated, but not injured. 

A witness told Officers she observed the Cougar drive towards the 4400 block of S. Port and change course to 4400 Ayers where he struck the tree.

Kaufman was administered Standard Field Sobriety Tests and a Blood Warrant was obtained for a Blood Specimen.  He was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

C.C. PAL Participant’s Annual Christmas Banquet

The Corpus Christi Police Athletic League, or C.C. PAL, is hosting its annual Christmas Banquet.  Tonight’s dinner honors the boys and girls who take part C.C. PAL’s different programs.

The holiday gathering which is expected to serve 500 kids and their parents, volunteers and police officers, begins at 6:00 p.m. at Gulf Coast Racing, 5302 Leopard.  The event will include a free smoked turkey dinner with all the trimmings, live music and a visit from Santa Claus.  Each child will receive a gift.  The event is being made possible through donations.

C.C. PAL currently serves 2,600 local children, from ages three to 18 years old.  It offers different educational programs and sports activities for at-risk youth.   C.C. PAL is funded through grants and donations and its largest contributor is Valero Energy Corporation.  Earlier this year, the program received $81,000 from a refinery dove hunt and $14,000 from a company golf tournament.

Couple Arrested and One Hospitalized Due to ‘Dirty Dancing’

Officers patrolling the downtown area observed a disturbance in front of Flannigan’s in which a man was lying on the ground another male being restrained by a couple of individuals.

The 37-year-old victim was found to be dazed and confused with a laceration to the back of his head.  The victim was transferred to Spohn Memorial for medical treatment.

Officers contacted the male who was being restrained who told them he is a friend of the victim. He reported the victim was dancing with the suspect’s girlfriend in an “inappropriate” manner and attempted to lift up her dress.  The boyfriend Tristan Richards (07/24/83) responded by assaulting the victim.  Two males joined the fight and dragged the victim outside where the assault continued.

Richards was arrested along with his girlfriend Ashlynn Finnie (11/29/88) and booked at the City Detention Center.  Richards was charged with Assault, while Finnie was charged with Public Intoxication.
