A 25 year old male motorist called Corpus Christi Police after another man in a passing vehicle pointed a gun at him as they both traveled west along the access road of South Padre Island Drive near Weber Road.

The victim did not know the suspect, and he did not know what provoked the man to point a gun at him. The victim followed the suspect at a safe distance and called police as the vehicles traveled south on Weber Road.

Officers were able to catch up to the suspect when he pulled into the parking lot of the HEB Store, located at Weber and Holly Road. The suspect who displayed the gun, Dominique Beasley (11/28/1991), was arrested for aggravated assault. He was also charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon when Officers located the .9 millimeter caliber handgun in the center console of his truck. He was additionally charged with delivery of marijuana, a state jail felony, when Officers found three bags of marijuana in a backpack inside the truck.

Offense: Arrest of Wanted Person
Case Number: 1508270091
A Corpus Christi Police Officer on patrol through a motel parking lot, located in the 3600 block of Leopard Street, found a wanted person out of San Patricio County.

The Officer observed a parked Ford Explorer in front of a room at the motel. The vehicle was registered to a person that was wanted for an outstanding arrest warrant for sexual assault that was issued on August 26.

The Officer was able to confirm that the man was staying at the motel by checking with the front office. The wanted person, Daniel Billman (02/27/1973), was arrested after he answered the Officers knock on his motel room door.

A vehicle stopped at a red light got the attention of a Corpus Christi Police Officer after the light cycled to green and the car did not move.

The Officer approached the 2013 Chevrolet Malibu and saw that the driver was asleep at the wheel and the car was still in drive.

The Officer knocked on the window several times before the man woke up.

After an investigation, the Officer determined that the driver, Juan Daniel Ramos (07/07/1984), was intoxicated. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated, a felony, and his vehicle was impounded.

Two females who were babysitting two children at an apartment, located at 5757 Wooldridge Road, were tied up by three suspects, and held against their will for a short time.

Neighbors called Corpus Christi Police after the two females escaped out a back window of the apartment and were going door to door asking for help. When Officers arrived they found the 23 year old and 17 year old girls standing outside a neighbor’s apartment. Neither of the females were injured.

The girls told Officers that they were babysitting inside an apartment when the older female answered a knock on the door. The man at the door, asked to speak to a man that lived at the apartment, but he was told that the male was not home at the time and she closed the door.

About ten minutes later the same man returned and knocked at the door again. When the older female opened the door the man grabbed her by the throat and forced his way into the apartment followed by two black males wearing ski mask. All three males pulled out handguns and ordered the females to sit in a back bedroom.  The females then had their wrist tied together by the suspects.

After several minutes of ransacking the apartment, the three males left with property from the home and each of the females cellphones.

The younger female was able to get free of her restraints and fearing that the males were still in the apartment, she was able to get out of a bedroom window and both fled to a neighbor’s apartment.

The suspect, who knocked on the door, was described as a Hispanic male in his late twenties, about 5’9”tall and weighing between 150 and 170 pounds. The other two suspects were both black males, in their late twenties, between 6’0” to 6’2” tall and both weighing between 150 to 180 pounds.  One of the black males was wearing a ski mask with a skull on it.

The two boys, ages 4 and 5, that the females were babysitting, slept through the entire incident and were not injured.

Officers have not made an arrest, or identified the three suspects involved in this crime and continue to investigate this case.

A 26 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was robbed while riding his skateboard to work.

The victim told Officers that a newer model silver Lincoln Towncar with large rims pulled up next to him, and three Hispanic males got out and one was armed with a gun. Two of the three suspects were wearing masks.

The suspects demanded money and took cash from the victim and then left. The victim was not injured.

Officers are still investigating this case, and at this time no suspects have been arrested.

An 18 year old female babysitting two children, at a home in the 2500 block of Fig Street, called Corpus Christi Police after a man fired five shots into the home.

Officers arrived and the female told them that a man, she did not know, knocked on the door looking for two men that lived there. She told him that they were not there, and closed the door.

She went to check on the kids, and at that time noticed the man was still walking around outside. A short time later, she heard five shots fired, three of which went through the walls of a back bedroom of the home.

No one inside the home was injured.

No suspects have been arrested, and Officers continue to investigate this crime

A 34 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after her boyfriend attempted to stab her with a knife inside their apartment located in the 600 block of Scotland Drive.

Officers arrived and were told that the male had left to go to the grocery store, and when he returned, he began accusing his girlfriend of sleeping with another man.  He then made a verbal threat to cut her throat and grabbed a knife.

The female was able to push the knife out of his hands, but he then picked up his car keys and struck her once on the left side of the face.  The male struck her again with his fist before leaving.

While Officers were there investigating, the male returned to find out what was going on.

Officers arrested the boyfriend, Jason Guerrero (02/24/1983), for aggravated assault, a first degree felony.

The female refused medical attention.

A man was electrocuted and several AEP customers were left without power on the south side of Corpus Christi after the man went onto the property of a power station located in the 4000 block of South Staples Street.

AEP personnel responded to the property to investigate the outage, when they found the 35 year old male on the ground near some copper wires that appear he was trying to remove. The man was severely burned and had serious injuries. He was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital and then flown to San Antonio for further treatment.

The man could face charges of criminal mischief for the damage he did to the AEP power station, and criminal trespass charges for entering the fenced in area.

A 2 year old boy is at Driscoll Hospital in very serious condition, and a man is in jail for hitting him.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a home located in the 800 block of 25th Street after the mother of the child called to report her son had fallen and was not breathing.  The child was then carried to Spohn Memorial Hospital by family members.

When Officers arrived at the emergency room, they were told that the two year old boy was in serious condition and being transferred to Driscoll Children’s Hospital.

Officers then went to the home of the child to investigate. Once there, Detectives were notified, and after an investigation, Lionel Pena (10/25/1981), a man that lives at the home, was arrested for injury to a child.

It is not known what the child’s relationship is to the man.

Offense: Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle

A tractor, valued at over $20,000 was stolen from a business in the 7600 block of South Padre Island Drive.

An employee with the business called Corpus Christi Police after he found an 8 foot section of a back chain fence had been been cut.

Once the suspect was inside the property,  a 2012 Kubota tractor was stolen. It is believed that the suspect drove the tractor off the property through the hole in the fence.

A short time later, Officers were dispatched to a call in the 1900 block of Ennis Joslin Road, regarding an abandoned tractor found in a plowed corn field. It was determined that it was the stolen tractor from the business on S. Padre Island Drive and it was recovered and returned.

At this time Officers have not arrested any suspects in this case, and the business is reviewing video surveillance from their property.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a crash involving a vehicle and a light pole in the 6100 block of Weber Road.

When Officers arrived they found a 2006 Toyota Tundra truck had drove off the roadway and struck a light pole.

After an investigation, the driver, Eric Foster (05/06/1994), was determined to be intoxicated and he was arrested. He was taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being booked into the City Detention Center.

There was only minor damage to the light pole.

Corpus Christi Police Officers on patrol witnessed a vehicle crash into a cement pillar under the overpass in the 5900 block of South Padre Island Drive at South Staples Street.

Before Officers could stop to investigate, the 2014 Dodge Charger sedan took off, and fled east along the access road.

The Dodge Charger then struck the rear of a 2007 Suzuki SUV that was stopped for a red light on the access road at Airline.

After an investigation, the driver of the Dodge Charger, Mazen Aljunaidi (11/25/1992), was determined to be intoxicated and he was arrested. He was taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital for treatment of minor injuries before being booked into the City Detention Center.

Neither of the two people in the Suzuki SUV that was hit from behind were injured.

A 28 year old male passenger riding in the Dodge Charger with the suspect was also not injured.

Event: Vehicle Crash with Fatal Injuries

A vehicle struck a pedestrian on the 3300 block of Staples Street Monday night and the pedestrian did not survive. Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle crash at 8:26pm Monday night and learned a maroon 2004 Chevy Tahoe struck a 44-year-old woman in the road. An ambulance took the 44-year-old woman to the hospital for treatment, but the 44-year-old woman died. Officers learned the 44-year-old woman crossed the street and not in a crosswalk when the Tahoe struck the woman. The 30-year-old man who operated the Tahoe was not issued any citations or accused of any criminal charges. Officers do not believe the 30-year-old man was intoxicated at the time of the crash and investigators will wait for results from the medical examiner’s evaluation of the 44-year-old woman to determine specific conclusions of the event. Investigators from the  Corpus Christi Police Traffic Safety Section conducted laser mapping of the area and impounded the Tahoe while they conduct the investigation. The 30-year-old man was released at the scene.

Corpus Christi Police arrested a 53-year-old man for Driving While Intoxicated Monday night after the 53-year-old man drove through an area closed to traffic while Traffic Safety Investigators gathered evidence from a vehicle crash scene with a fatal injury on the 3300 block of Staples Street. Officers rushed to gain the attention of a driver who drove a white 2002 Mitsubishi Galant passed barriers and Officers through a crash scene at 10:13pm. Officers got the driver, 53-year-old Donald Bates (4/3/1962) to stop the car and the Officers believed Bates had consumed alcoholic beverages. Officers arrested Bates for Driving While Intoxicated (with at least 2 previous convictions of Driving While Intoxicated), a warrant for Bates’ arrest for failure to appear for an intoxicated driving charge, and for possession of a controlled substance. Officers impounded the vehicle and took Bates to the hospital to collect a specimen of his blood for evidence. Officers then delivered Bates to the city detention center.
