Corpus Christi Police were called after several shots were heard being fired outside a nightclub located at 5702 South Staples Street.

Officers arrived and found fourteen shell casing from a .45 caliber gun in the parking lot between the nightclub and a nearby doctor’s office.

At this time it appears no property was struck.

A bar employee told Officers that he saw a suspect inside of a dark colored Dodge truck firing the shots as it was leaving the area.

At this time no suspects have been identified.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating the theft of several hurricane windows and metal doors from an apartment complex under construction at 5201 Kostoryz Road.

Officers arrived and were told by a construction supervisor that 14 hurricane windows and 14 metal doors were missing from Building #3 on the property.  Officers found a fence to the construction site that had been cut by the suspects to gain access to the property.

The total value of the stolen items was over $8,000.

At this time no suspects have been identified.

Corpus Christi Police are investigating how a female customer wound up with a counterfeit bill after she cashed a payroll check at a store located at 11100 Leopard Street.

The 22 year old female told store employees that she cashed her payroll check at the store last Friday.  When she went to use the cash she was given at a local restaurant, they told her that one of her bills was counterfeit and they refused to accept it.

The female returned to the store to tell them about the fake $100 bill on Tuesday.

Officers arrived and confiscated the counterfeit bill and are investigating how it got to the store.

A man and wife were asleep, inside their home in the 3100 block of Up River Road, when they heard the sound of one of their vehicles starting up outside.

When the couple looked outside, they saw a man driving away in their 2006 Dodge Ram truck.  Both of them ran outside and got into another vehicle, that they owned, and began to follow their stolen truck while calling police on the phone.

They followed the stolen truck until it crashed at the intersection of Mussett Street and 19th Street.

The suspect jumped out of the truck and ran away and he was able to leave the area prior to police arrival.

At this time, no suspects have been identified.

Corpus Christi Police arrested a man after he inappropriately touched a juvenile while the two were in the dressing room of a fitness center located at 5858 South Padre Island Drive.

Officers arrived to investigate and they were told by the victim’s mother that her 16 year old son was in the dressing room when another male touched him while he was exiting the shower.

Officers went into the dressing room and were able to find the suspect still there.  Officers arrested the suspect, Freddy Huesca (03/06/1983), for indecency with a child, a third degree felony.

A 21 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was attacked by several men as he pulled into an apartment complex, located at 5901 Weber Road.

The victim told Officers that he was in his vehicle and was pulling into the entrance of the property, and there was a man standing in the middle of the driveway.  The man began yelling at the victim and beating on his vehicles hood.  The victim got out to confront the man, and he suspect produced a knife out of his pocket and threatened the victim. The victim said he was able to knock the knife out of the man’s hand, and that is when four other suspects jumped in and they all began to attack the victim.

During the fight, one of the suspects stole the victim’s cell phone that was valued at $600.

The victim was not seriously injured.

None of the suspect have been identified.

A mother was arrested after she left her two small children at home alone and they got out of their house and wondered into the street.

Officers arrived and were told by a female witness that she was driving her vehicle in the 2000 block of Rosalie Street when she almost hit two small children who were running in the street.  When the driver got out to talk to the children, they said that they had been left home alone.

Just before 9 PM, the children’s mother did arrive back at home. After the police investigation, with the assistance of Child Protective Services, was concluded into the incident, the mother of the 3 year old and 1 year old boys, Mariah Warren (09/11/1992), was arrested for abandoning a child.

Child Protective Services released the two boys into the custody of a family member.

A female driver was arrested by Corpus Christi Police for DWI after she crashed her car into a mobile home and a shed in the 6300 block of Old Brownsville Road.

Officers arrived at the crash and were told by the driver that she was traveling in an unfamiliar area of the city and she accidentally turned into the residence.

After an investigation, Officers determined that the female driver, Jessica Martinez (02/03/1997), was intoxicated and she was arrested.

Corpus Christi Police Traffic Officers are investigating the sixth fatal crash in the city after the driver of a truck hit a man on a motorcycle and killed him.

Officers were called out to the intersection of Ayers Street and Holly Road and a crash investigation determined that the 37 year old man was traveling west on Holly Road on his 2011 Yamaha motorcycle and as he entered the Ayers Street intersection, a 2001 Dodge truck traveling north on Ayers Street hit him.

After striking the motorcycle, the driver of the truck, reversed his vehicle and attempted to leave the scene west on Holly Road.  The truck had a significant amount of damage to the front end and didn’t go far.  The driver of the truck stopped on the sidewalk about 300 feet west of the crash scene and then fled on foot towards the Crosstown Expressway.

Officers were able to catchup to the driver of the truck, Jesus Lozano Rivera (11/03/1993), a short distance away and arrest him. After an investigation, Officers determined the driver of the truck was intoxicated.

The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital and was pronounced dead just before 1 AM.

The driver of the truck was charged with intoxicated manslaughter and leaving the scene of the crash.

Corpus Christi Police arrested the driver of a truck after an Officer observed him racing another  vehicle down South Shoreline Boulevard.

The Officer on patrol, saw a 2016 Chevrolet truck and a black car traveling side by side while increasing speed in a competitive attempt to race each other as they both traveled south down Shoreline Boulevard.

The Officer was only able to stop one of the vehicles involved.  The driver of the truck, Martin Sorola (07/15/1997), was arrested for racing, a class B misdemeanor, and his truck was impounded.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a fight inside a convenience store, located at 5702 South Alameda Street, between three men.

When Officers went inside the store they found two men on top of another man.  After an investigation, it was determined that the two men had seen the other man break into a vehicle that was parked in the 400 block of Glenmore Street.

One of the men told Officers he had seen the man break into his friend’s 2004 Dodge truck that was parked on Glenmore Street. When the man went inside to tell his friend and owner of the truck about the break in, the suspect left walking toward the store.

Both men found the suspect inside the store and confronted him leading to the fight.

Officers arrested the suspected thief, Jason Schmidt (12/23/1972), for burglary to a vehicle.

A 54 year old male victim that was painting an interior room of a home, located in the 800 block of Lantana Street, was threatened by a suspect armed with a handgun.

The painter said he was inside the home working when he saw the front door being kicked in.  A suspect armed with a handgun then came into the home and threatened the painter.  The suspect made demands for money.  The victim told Officers that he was able to get his hands on the gun and was trying to wrestle it away from the suspect.  He was unsuccessful in his attempt, but the suspect did leave the home.

After the struggle, the suspect fled out the front door.

It is not believed that the suspect was able to get away with any property.

The younger age Hispanic male suspect was last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie, with a bandanna over his mouth.   He also had on dark gloves, black shorts, and black and white high-top tennis shoes.

At this time, no suspects have been identified.

Corpus Christi Police arrested a suspect after he stabbed a man a women following a disturbance between several people in the 6600 block of Weber Road.

When Officers arrived they found that an 18 year old female and a 16 year male had both been stabbed by the suspect who they had got into a verbal argument with at a gas station located at Weber Road and Saratoga Boulevard.

The two victims, and two of their friends, were at the gas station when a verbal argument started between them and another customer. The four left the store walking and were followed by the suspect.  When the four confronted the suspect again in the 6600 block of Weber Road, he stabbed the male twice in the left arm, and the female once in the abdomen.  The other two friends were not injured.

CCFD EMS transported the two victims to Spohn Memorial Hospital to be treated for injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Officers located the suspect, Manuel Felipe Sarli (10/20/1977), walking away from the scene and arrested him for aggravated assault.
