A 33 year old male victim was found shot in the chest in the middle of the road in the 600 block of Van Cleave Drive by Corpus Christi Police.

Officers responded to the report of shots being fired in the neighborhood, and when they arrived, they found the victim laying outside the open door of a 2002 Ford F150 truck on the ground with a gunshot wound to his upper chest.

The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS in serious condition.

Police Detectives arrived at the scene and are in the process of talking with neighbors to try and find out what occurred.  At least two shell casing were recovered as well as a firearm.  It is still unclear if the weapon recovered was used in the shooting.

At this time no suspects have been arrested.

A 58 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after she found several bullets holes in a rental van she was driving.

Officers responded to the female’s home in the 1600 block of Peabody Street.  She told Officers that she was driving down Peabody Street on her way home when she heard six shots coming from outside her vehicle.

She continued traveling to her home, down the street, and did not notice that at least two bullets had struck the rental van she had been driving.

Officers observed the van had a bullet hole in the driver’s side door and a rear tire that was losing air.

Officers went back to the 1500 block of Peabody Street in an attempt to locate evidence, but none was found.

At this time no suspects have been identified.

Three men were arrested by Corpus Christi Police after they were caught loading tires from a business into a truck and driving off.

An Officer observed the 1998 Chevrolet truck backed up onto the property of the business located at 1817 South Padre Island Drive.  He then saw three men loading up several tires from the business into the truck they were in.  The suspect vehicle then left the business with the tires and was stopped along the Crosstown Freeway access road.

Officer’s recovered ten tires and six rims from the suspect vehicle. Each tire and rim was valued at $50.

Officers arrested the driver of the truck, Daniel Rodriguez- Palmer (11/11/1991), and two passengers that were seen loading up the tires, Austin Salinas (12/28/1998) and Rigoberto Garcia (03/12/1984).  All three were charged with theft.

A 47 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he was stabbed in the neck by someone he has had ongoing issues with.

Officer’s responded to the report of a man being stabbed in the 1400 block of Martin Luther King Drive.  They found the victim near Interstate Highway 37 and the Brownlee exit ramp.

The victim told the Officers that a young black male with dread locks and riding a skateboard was the person that had stabbed him. He was also able to provide Officers with the suspect’s name. He told them that he had called the police a few days ago after the suspect tried to stab him near the same location.  At the time of that incident, the victim did not know the suspects name.

The victim was taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS to be treated for the stab wound that was on the right side of his lower neck.  It is believed that those injuries are not life threatening.

Officers were not able to locate the suspect.

A 22 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police after two men, one armed with a shotgun and the other a knife, attempted to rob her while she was moving into an apartment in the 800 block of Lantana Street.

Officers arrived and were told by the female victim that she and her 3 year old daughter were in the process of moving items from the main house to a back apartment when two males jumped over a fence armed with weapons.

One of the suspects, described as a black male wearing a red hoodie and a rag or bandanna covering his face,  grabbed the young girl and pointed a gun at her and demanded money from her mother. The suspects then went into the main house where they confronted other family members of the victim.

Once inside the main house, the suspects demanded money from three other family members.

Both suspects were last seen getting into a gray passenger car and fled south on Lantana Street.

The second suspect was describes as a Hispanic male, wearing a blue hoodie.

None of the victims were injured during this crime.

Corpus Christi Police arrested a male driver for DWI, and then found he was a license to carry a handgun holder armed with a pistol.

Officers stopped the driver of a 2011 GMC Sierra truck in the 4700 block of Everhart Road for several traffic violations. When they spoke to the driver of the truck, Marco Fam (08/08/1988), they determined that he had been drinking.

After an investigation, Officers determined that the driver was intoxicated.  He told them that he had a license to carry a handgun permit, and that his pistol was in the center console of his vehicle.

Officers recovered the loaded Glock, 40 caliber handgun.

The driver was arrested for driving while intoxicated, and unlawful carrying of a weapon by a licensed holder.

Corpus Christi Police arrested a man after he assaulted a paramedic of the Corpus Christi Fire Department during a call in the 3200 block of Flour Bluff Drive.

It all began when a witnesses called police after she saw a man trying to climb the barbed wire fence along Flour Bluff Drive in an attempt to gain access to Waldron Field, a property owned by the Naval Air Station.  The witness saw the man fall off the fence and land on his head.

Both Officers and CCFD Medics were dispatched to the location to check on the man. Medics arrived on the scene first, and as a 51 year old male fire fighter went to check on the man, who had fallen off the fence, the man got up and began to attack the paramedic.

The paramedic was bitten by the man on his chest, through his shirt.  The bite by the man was hard enough to break the skin.   The man then picked up his wooden guitar, that he had been carrying, and swung it at the paramedic striking him on top of his forehead causing a large cut.

Officers arrived and after a brief struggle they were able to get the man who had assaulted the paramedic, Christopher Guldin (02/15/1987), into custody.  He was arrested for assault on paramedic and resisting arrest.

The paramedic was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries.

A 40 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was robbed in the parking lot of a grocery store located at 4444 Kostoryz Road.

The victim told Officers that he had come out of the store and had just opened the door to his truck when a blue Chevrolet Impala, with three men, pulled up next to him. The front seat passenger got out and told the victim to give him all his money. The victim handed the suspect some cash.

The suspect acted like he had a gun under his shirt, but he never displayed it. After the victim gave the suspect his cash, the suspect demanded the victim’s wallet.

Another suspect, who had exited the car, grabbed the victim around the waist and ripped his shirt as they wrestled for the victim’s wallet. When they were unable to get the wallet out, the suspects all jumped back into the Chevrolet and left.

The victim was not seriously injured.

A female was arrested by Corpus Christi Police after she assaulted her mother at the apartment the two share located at 6702 Everhart Road.

Officers arrived and were told by the 46 year old mother that she and her daughter had gotten into a disturbance over a cell phone earlier in the evening.  The disturbance turned physical when the daughter hit her mother numerous times in the face and kicked her several times in the stomach.

The mother was not seriously inured, and was able to escape from the apartment and call police.

Officers arrived and after a struggle they were able to take the daughter, Lelani Sturgeon (11/16/1990), into custody.  She was charged with assault and resisting arrest.

Corpus Christi Police arrested a man after he shot at another driver in a road rage incident in the 3000 block of Laguna Shores Road.

The 21 year old male driver told Officers that he was driving his Cadillac home when he noticed that a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling behind him.  The driver thought that the Tahoe looked familiar and was a friend of his so he began to slow down.  When the Tahoe passed, the driver realized it was not his friend’s vehicle.

Once the driver of the Tahoe got in front of the Cadillac he hit his brakes several times and began yelling obscenities and making threats to the other driver.

During the confrontation, the driver of the Tahoe produced a handgun and fired a shot in the direction of the driver of the Cadillac.

Once the victim notified police of the incident, they were able to locate the driver of the Tahoe parked in the Wal Mart parking lot, located at Flour Bluff Drive and South Padre Island Drive.

Officers arrested the driver of the Tahoe, Christopher Brotherton (09/12/1994) for aggravated assault.  They also confiscated a Taurus 9 millimeter handgun they believe was used by the suspect.

Corpus Christi Police arrested a male driver after he passed out in the drive thru lane of a restaurant located on North Beach.

Officers arrived after employees of the business called to report that a 2011 Ford F150 truck was in the drive through lane of the restaurant and the driver was asleep with his foot on the brakes.

Officers were able to get the truck into park and after an investigation they determined that the driver, Justin Bowman (11/21/1983) was intoxicated.

He was arrested from driving while intoxicated, and his truck was impounded.

Corpus Christi Police responded to an alarm at a business, located at 1921 South Padre Island Drive, and found a window to the restaurant had been broken out.

Officers arrived and were met by the business owner who allowed them inside.  He showed them video surveillance of the restaurant to help determine what had happened.  The video showed a male suspect breaking the glass on the northwest corner of the building, and then he climbs inside.  The suspect goes directly to the register in the center of the business and removes the cash drawer. He picks up the drawer and slams it to the ground when he discovers that it has no money.  The suspect is then seen exiting out the business through the same window that he entered.

The suspect was last seen wearing a hooded sweat shirt and gloves.

At this time, no suspects have been identified.

Corpus Christi Police responded to an alarm at a business, located at 4424 State Highway 286 Access Road North,  and found the front door to the tire shop had been broken out.

Officers arrived and were met by the business owner who allowed them inside.  He showed them video surveillance of the tire shop to help determine what had happened.  The video showed a male suspect breaking the front glass door with a brick.  Once inside, the suspect goes to the cash register and removes the money from inside. The suspect is then seen exiting out the business through the front glass door he had just broken out.

The owner of the business is still trying to determined how much cash was in the register, but did estimate that the cost to repair the front glass door would be $1,500.

A male driver was arrested by Corpus Christi Police after he was observed driving recklessly through the Moore Plaza Shopping Center.

It all started when an Officer observed the driver of a 2008 Ford Explorer traveling at a high rate of speed south on South Staples Street holding his cell phone to his ear.

When the Officer attempted to stop him, the driver of the SUV made a turn into Moore Plaza and slowed down as if he were going to pull into a parking spot.  Instead, the driver continued through the parking lot at high speeds and accelerated as he made a sharp turn causing the back end of the SUV to fishtail.

The driver of the SUV exited Moore Plaza and turned back onto South Staples Street. Officers followed the SUV until it turned into the parking lot of an apartment complex located in the 5700 block of Saratoga Boulevard and stopped.

The driver, Israel Deleon Jr. (09/22/1981), was arrested for reckless driving.  He was additionally charged with fleeing from police and his SUV was impounded.

A 28 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was robbed and beaten by three suspects in the driveway of his home located in the 700 block of Meadowbrook Drive.

The man told Officers that he walked outside of his home to get into his vehicle and as he went to shut his car door, he felt someone tug on it and pull him out of the vehicle.  Another male suspect, with a long wooden stick, jabbed him in the face twice and a third suspect demanded his property.

The victim said the three suspects ripped off two gold chains from his neck, valued at nearly $5000, and then fled on foot.

All of the suspects were described as being Hispanic males wearing hoodies and masks

The victim suffered several injuries on his head, back, arms, and was treated at Spohn South Hospital.

At this time, no suspects have been identified
