Corpus Christi Police Detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of 35-year-old Herman Lee Wright Jr. (10/5/1980) Thursday for cruelty to an animal after a video circulated this week on social media.
Corpus Christi Police received a complaint of animal cruelty at a home on the 5300 block of Gateridge Drive on December 8, 2015. Detectives gathered witnesses and recorded information on December 9, then obtained a warrant for Wright’s arrest on December 10, 2015 from the Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Place 2.

Date: 12/09/2015 10:05 PM Location: 3300 South Alameda Street Offense: Assault on Emergency Service Personnel P.C. 22.01 Third Degree Felony Case Number: 1512090171 An emergency room nurse was assaulted by a female patient she was trying to assist at a hospital located in the 3300 block of South Alameda Street.
Corpus Christi Police arrived at the hospital after the patient had already left. The 47 year old female nurse told Officers that she was discussing the patient’s mental health with her when she turned violent.
The patient hit the nurse four times and then tore an IV out of her arm. The patient then began slinging the IV at the nurse splashing blood all over her arms and clothes. The patient then ran out of the hospital through the emergency room entrance.
A short time later, Officers went to the patients’ home, located in the 3600 block of Panama Drive, and located her there and took her into custody. Officers arrested the patient, Anita Perez (03/20/1969), for the assault on the nurse. She was also determined to have an outstanding arrest warrant for another assault back in September. The bond amount on that arrest warrant was $1,000.
A man accused of using stolen credit cards was identified by tips through Crime Stoppers and arrested yesterday.
Robert Noriega had two arrest warrants issued for him, related to the use of stolen credit cards taken from two separate burglaries in the Del Mar neighborhood, was located at his place of employment in the 900 block of Louisiana Parkway.
One of the arrest warrants issued for the suspect was for using a credit card taken during a residential burglary in the 1800 block of Ocean Drive. The second warrant was issued after the man used a stolen credit card taken during an auto burglary in the 300 block of Atlantic Street.
Officers located the wanted person, Robert Louis Noriega (08/12/1983), and he was arrested for the two outstanding warrants that were issued on December 8 and each hold a $15,000 bond amount.
Detectives thank the public who provided tips to Crime Stoppers to identify this man. Those who provided information should call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS to check the status of their tips because the first person who provided the information will be paid a cash reward.

The man in the video is accused of using credit cards which were stolen from a car parked on Atlantic Street in October, 2015. This man purchased two televisions with the stolen credit card and Detectives need your help to identify the man. Offense: Aggravated Assault
P.C. 22.02 Second Degree Felony Case Number: 1512090035 A 19 year old man was stabbed in the chest after a fight between three men at a home located in the 5700 block of Tanglewood. Drive.
Officers arrived and found the victim with a minor stab wound to the right side of his chest. He told Officers that he tried to intervene in a fight between two other men upstairs in the home when was stabbed by Ricardo Hernandez (04/10/1972).
Officers recovered the weapon and arrested the suspect for aggravated assault.
The victim was taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS with non-life threatening injuries.

Date: 12/09/2015 1:15 AM Location: 5900 Leopard Street Offense: Aggravated Assault P.C. 22.02 Second Degree Felony Case Number: 1512090006 A 29 year old female called an acquaintance to come pick her up after she got into a fight with her boyfriend at their apartment located in the 5900 block of Leopard Street.
When the 42 year old male friend arrived to pick the female up, he saw her being chased by her boyfriend who had a baseball bat. The boyfriend then saw the friend and hit him with the bat several times.
The friend was able to get the bat away from the boyfriend but then the boyfriend produced a knife and stabbed the friend in the chest. The friend then hit the boyfriend in his head with the bat he had.
Both men had to be taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital. Neither one has life threatening injuries.
Officers intend to file aggravated assault charges against the 41 year old boyfriend when he is released from the hospital.

Date: 12/08/2015 12:05 AM Location: 800 Mariana Street Offense: Theft of a Firearm P.C. 31.03 State Jail Felony Case Number: 1512080003 A 75 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his car was broken into and a gun was stolen.
The man told Officers he left his 2008 Ford Escape unlocked while it was parked in the driveway of his home located in the 800 block of Mariana Street. A .38 caliber Rossi revolver and a check book was stolen from the front seat.
172 firearms have been stolen from vehicles in the city this year, only 38 of those have been recovered.

Corpus Christi Police would like help from the public to identify and locate a man who is suspected of shooting a 31-year-old man in the parking lot of a convenience store located at 3955 South Padre Island Drive at 2:45am on December 5, 2015.
Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a shooting at 2:45am on December 5th, 2015 at a convenience store located at Weber and South padre Island Drive. The Officers learned a large group gathered at the convenience store parking lot and several fights erupted. Officers learned that during the confrontations, a 31-year-old man was shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Officers obtained video surveillance of the event and believe there is an image of a man in a red shirt and black pants and white shoes who rushes up to the 31-year-old man, discharges a pistol, then runs away. Officers believe the 31-year-old man was laid on his back on the ground while a vehicle obstructs the view of the 31-year-old man. Officers believe the 31-year-old man was beaten by several people who kept him on the ground until the shooter rushed up and discharged the pistol.

Date: 12/06/2015 8:20 PM Location: 2700 Saratoga Boulevard Offense: Forgery P.C. 32.21 Third Degree Felony Case Number: 1512060118 A vehicle stopped by a Corpus Christi Police Officer for speeding in the 2700 block of Saratoga Boulevard led to an arrest of a man for forgery.
Once the Officer stopped the 2001 Ford Expedition they determined that the driver, Ray Griffin Jr. (04/26/1973), did not have a driver’s license or insurance on his vehicle.
The Officer was impounding the vehicle when he observed a small zip lock bag which contained methamphetamine. Also found in the pants pockets of the suspect was four counterfeit $50 dollar bills.
He was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and forgery, both felony offenses.
