Burglar uses lock picking tools

Corpus Christi Police Detectives need your help identifying this suspected burglar. At approximately 3:30am he is captured on surveillance video picking the door lock. He is approximately 5’8″ – 5’11” tall thin build wearing a t-shirt, ball cap and Bermuda shorts. He also has numerous tattoos on his lower legs.

Truck And Oilfield Tools Stolen From Garage

A male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he found several high priced tools and a truck had been stolen from his detached garage in the 6100 block of King Trail.

When Officers arrived they were told that an estimated $75,000 worth of oil field tools were missing from inside the garage.

Suspects also appear to have taken a gray 2015 Ford F350 four door truck with bright yellow front and rear bumpers and a grill guard.

It is still unknown how the suspects gained entry into the garage.

Corpus Christi Police responded to an armed robbery at the Times Market, located at 6410 Weber Road.

When Officers arrived the clerk told them that a Hispanic male walked into the store and demanded all the money in the cash register. The suspect made threats to the clerk, while keeping one hand in his pocket or waistband, but no weapon was displayed.

Camera images from the store surveillance system shows the suspect to be 5’06″to 5’10” tall, and weighing between 250 and 275 pounds. He was last seen wearing a long sleeve red shirt, khaki pants and a black Yankees ball cap with a camouflage brim.

The suspect left the store walking between the apartment’s fence and the store.

A 41 year old female victim called Corpus Christi Police after she found her car was missing from her driveway.

Officers responded to the victim’s home, located in the 14400 block of Pentridge Drive, and were told that the vehicle stolen was a 2005 Honda Accord.

About an hour later police were called to the Home Depot parking lot, located at 13202 Leopard Street, where a witness told Officers that she saw a 2005 Honda Accord, believed to be the stolen vehicle,  and an older model Chevrolet Impala enter the parking lot. Two men got out and started switching the license plates between the two vehicles. After switching the plates, the two vehicles left the parking lot.

Police were then called to the Wal Mart Store, located at 3800 U.S. Highway 77,  and told that two males had entered the store and attempted to use a credit card at the jewelry counter belonging to a female.  Employees refused to allow the purchase.

Officers then learned that a 76 year old female had her purse stolen from her car while it was parked at her home in the 4100 block of Rehfeld Road. The suspects who took the purse then attempted to use the credit cards a little later at the store. Employees from the Wal Mart Store then saw the two suspects leave in the stolen  2005 Honda Accord.

Video images from the store show the two suspects who are believed to be involved in all of these crimes.

A 73 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after she found that her home, located in the 400 block of Ohio Street, had been broken into and her vehicle stolen.

The victim told Officers that the suspect stole a lap top, a television, and her wallet with cash inside while she was asleep inside. The suspect then stole the keys to her 2000 Dodge Durango and loaded the stolen items into the vehicle and left.

It appears as though the suspects may have gained entry into the home through an unlocked back sliding glass door.

The stolen vehicle was found with the keys in the ignition abandoned a few hours later at Craig Street and Santa Fe Street.

At this time, no suspects have been identified.

Several neighbors called Corpus Christi Police after a couple caught a man breaking into their vehicle.

When Officers arrived, they found a man holding down another man in the front yard of a home in the 1700 block of Bernandino Street. The 40 year old man told Officers he was inside his home when he saw a man riding in the street on a bicycle. He then saw the man go into his parked 2013 Buick sedan.

The man and his wife came out of their home and were able to hold the suspect down until the police arrived. Officers arrested the suspect, Timothy Naranjo (01/24/1981), for burglary

Three People Walk Out Of Apartment After SWAT Standoff

Corpus Christi Police were dispatched to a disturbance with a weapon at an apartment complex located at 7350 Mc Ardle Road just before midnight on October 19.

When Officers arrived, the person that leases the apartment, a 39 year old female, told them that a male suspect, had her 19 year old son and his 20 year old girlfriend in her apartment and he was holding them at gun point.

The female said that she arrived at her apartment to find the male suspect fighting with her son. The female told him to leave the apartment and he pointed a rifle type gun at her and told her to get out or he would kill her and her son. The female also told Officers that the girl inside the apartment was the ex-girlfriend of both her son and the suspect. The girlfriend was reported to have a cut to her forehead from the altercation in the apartment with the men.

Officers were able to observe through a window, the female inside the apartment  bleeding from her head and two males arguing and pacing back and forth around her. When Officers attempted to make contact by knocking on an apartment window and front door, no one answered.

Officers were also informed that the male suspect may be armed with a rifle or a handgun that was inside the apartment. Corpus Christi Police SWAT and HNT were called out and after almost three hours all three people in the apartment walked out.

Officers arrested Christian Lawson (09/14/1993) for aggravated assault. He was additionally charged with four outstanding arrest warrants that had been issued.

The female was treated at the scene by CCFD EMS for injuries to her head.

Two businesses were broken into in the 4400 block of Prescott Street.

Officers, answering an alarm call, arrived and found that the telephone wires to the Prescott Meat Market, and the Cornerstone Christian Church had both been cut. The suspects pried open the back doors of both business to gain entry inside.

Officers continue to investigate this crime, and at this time it is unknown if any property was removed from either business.

Employees arriving for work at the Wingstop Restaurant, located in the 6300 block of Wooldridge Road, called Corpus Christi Police after they found the business had been broken into.

Officers arrived and found the front glass door of the business had been shattered and completely broken out.

They were able to watch security video that showed a male suspect, wearing a hat or bandana to cover his face, throw a rock through the glass door and then go inside the building. The suspect is then seen going behind the counter and going through cabinets. The suspect then picks up two cash registers and throws them on the ground in an attempt to break them open.

The suspect then grabs the cash registers and runs back out the broken glass door.

Those registers were later recovered by Officers dumped at a city park on Buggywhip Drive.

At this time no suspects have been identified in this case.

Investigators Release Image of Vehicle Believed Involved in Saturday’s Fatal Hit & Run

Corpus Christi Police Crash Investigators have released video they obtained today which show a vehicle Investigators believe was involved in the Hit & Run crash Saturday night on the 7500 block of South Padre Island Drive which left a 21-year-old woman dead.

Investigators have the cooperation of nearby businesses to gain access to video surveillance in the area of the hit & run crash. Investigators obtained video from a business which shows a white sport utility vehicle pass in front of the business at 9:06pm with aftermarket black rims that has front end damage. Investigators believe the vehicle is a Toyota Four Runner. Investigators are viewing more video to determine the path of the vehicle such as if the vehicle entered the freeway, remained on the access road, or turned at an intersection.

Investigators ask the public for help to speed up the process to locate this vehicle and identify the driver. Anyone who can locate the vehicle or has any additional information about this crash, call the Corpus Christi Police Traffic Safety Section at 886-2600 or call Crime Stoppers at 888-TIPS (8477). Information provided to Crime Stoppers which results in an arrest may earn the caller a cash reward.
