 Corpus Christi Police Department Narcotic and Vice Investigations Division officers along with Gang Unit officers served a Search and Arrest warrant at 3705 MacArthur Street.   Officers seized 14.33grams of powder Cocaine, 40.89grams of Marijuana and $503 in cash.  Weights on both the Cocaine and Marijuana  were aggregate gross weights. 

Siblings Michelle Adame (07/14/76) and Jose Luis Adame (07/29/78) were arrested and booked at the City Detention Center.  Michelle was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (State Jail Felony) and Possession of Marijuana (Class “B” Misdemeanor), while Jose Luis was charged with Manufacture Delivery of a Controlled Substance (First Degree Felony) and Possession of Marijuana (Class “B” Misdemeanor).

A First Degree Felony is punishable by 5 to 99 years in prison, while a State Jail Felony is punishable from 180 days to two years in jail.  Both felonies can be fined up to $10,000.  A Class “B” MIsdemeanor is punishable by up to 180 days in jail and a $2,000 fine.

 

Mustang Crashes Into School Bus

Corpus Christi Police responded to a major vehicle crash which involved a school bus Friday morning at the intersection of Alameda Street and Airline Road. Witnesses told Crash Investigators that a black Ford Mustang traveled south on Airline at a high rate of speed, went through the red light, and struck a school bus in the intersection. Witnesses told Officers the school bus had the green light to turn left from Alameda to travel south on Airline when the bus was hit. The 63-year-old woman school bus driver for the Corpus Christi Independent School District was not injured in the crash. The man in the Mustang was taken to the hospital by ambulance. There were no other passengers in either vehicle.

Corpus Christi Police took a 15 year old girl into custody for an assault Wednesday at a school located at 4001 Wildcat Drive. Corpus Christi Police responded to a fight between two 15 year old girls and attempted to detain them. One of the 15 year old girls resisted the responding Officer which prompted the Officer to take the girl into custody for the assault and for resisting arrest. The Officer delivered the girl to the Nueces County Juvenile Detention Center.

A 53 year old woman reported a theft at 5604 Old Brownsville Road to the Corpus Christi Police Thursday morning. The 53 year old woman told Officers some unknown person stole the air conditioner units valued at about $6,000 dollars from the business while the building was unattended overnight.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 42 year old Leah Thompson (6/42/1971) for a warrant for her arrest Thursday night at 12150 Interstate Highway 37. Corpus Christi Police investigated a suspicious person complaint at a church on the access road of the highway at 10:26pm. Officers found Thompson and discovered she had a warrant for her arrest for burglary. Officers arrested Thompson and delivered her to the city detention center.

Corpus Christi Police took a 14 year old boy into custody at a high school located at 2601 Waldron Road for arson Thursday. Corpus Christi Police responded to an arson complaint at 1:04pm after a faculty member discovered a 14 year old student set a backpack on fire in a restroom. The Officer took the 14 year old into custody and delivered him to the Nueces County Juvenile Detention Center.

A 38 year old man reported criminal mischief at the 500 block of Crayton Street to the Corpus Christi Police Wednesday. The 38 year old man told Officers several vehicles were damaged which included his black 2001 Volkswagen Beetle. The 38 year old man told Officers the damage was caused by an unknown person who threw rocks at the windows. The 38 year old man later told Officers he learned who was responsible for the criminal mischief because he found a cell phone in his driveway that was dropped by the suspect. The 38 year old man told Officers the owner of the phone called the phone and the 38 year old man answered and had a conversation which resulted in the 38 year old man identifying the suspect in this case.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 55 year old Sylvia Cifuentes (9/6/1958) for theft at a store located at 5313 Saratoga Boulevard Wednesday. Corpus Christi Police responded to a shoplifting complaint at 2:25pm and a 48 year old woman told Officers Cifuentes used a motorized shopping cart in the store. The 48 year old woman told Officers Cifuentes placed merchandise on the seat, sat on the merchandise valued at over one hundred dollars, and left the store without paying. The Officer arrested Cifuentes for theft and delivered her to the city detention center.

A 64 year old man reported an unusual event at his home on the 3800 block of Panama to the Corpus Christi Police Thursday. The 64 year old man told Officers an unknown man came to his door and claimed to be sent from the alarm company to which the 64 year old man subscribes. The 64 year old man told Officers he asked to see identification from the unknown man, but the man flashed a identification badge, but did not hold it long enough for the 64 year old man to read. The 64 year old man said the man inspected the interior of the house and then left. The 64 year old man told Officers he called his alarm company and was told there was no representative sent to his home by the company. The 64 year old man became concerned and called Police. The 64 year old man described the unknown man as a male with light colored skin, about 5 foot 8 inches tall, 150 pounds, about 20 years of age, clean shaven, had no visible tattoos, and wore a beige sweater and blue jeans.

Tobacco Shop Employee Robbed at Knife Point

Corpus Christi Police are asking the public’s assistance to help identify two men who can be seen on surveillance video as they held up a local tobacco store employee at knife point.  The men can be seen as they walked to the store from behind a wooden fenced area and buzzed into the business.  The men fled when the employee hit the panic button taking only several packs of cigarettes.  The employee was uninjured in the robbery.

The suspects are described as two Hispanic men, one of them armed with a knife.  The armed suspect  appeared to be 22 to 28 years of age, stood 5’10” feet tall and weighed 190 lbs.  He was wearing a black cap, black  jacket, and dark-colored pants.  The shorter man appeared to be 20 to 24 years of age, stood  5’4″ feet tall, and weighed 125 lbs.  He was wearing a knit cap with flowers, a black jacket, a dark-colored shirt, and blue jeans.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 20-year-old Jeremy Ybarra (8/18/1993) for a warrant for his arrest for robbery Thursday morning at his home on the 7100 block of Southhaven Drive. Corpus Christi Police Detectives investigated a robbery at the convenience store located at 7201 Rodd Field Road on January 2, 2014 at 4:35am and gathered evidence and information to determine that Ybarra was responsible. Detectives obtained a warrant for the arrest of Ybarra and Officers arrested Ybarra at his home, then delivered Ybarra to the city detention center.

The suspect is described as a  20 to 30-year-old bearded male, standing 5′ 8″ to 5’10” feet tall, and weighing 190 to 220 lbs.  The man was driving a newer two-door hatchback.

A 35-year-old woman reported a robbery at the store located at 2781 Rodd Field Road to the Corpus Christi Police Tuesday. The suspect is described 20 to 30-year-old bearded man, standing to 5’7″ to 5’10” feet tall with brown hair.  He wore a gray zip up hoodie over a blue shirt, blue jeans,  and gloves.

A 54-year-old man reported a robbery at a bank located at 3133 South Alameda Street to the Corpus Christi Police Wednesday. The 54-year-old man told Officers he is a bank employee and a man pushed through two customers to approach the desk and demand cash. The 54-year-old man told Officers the man got cash and then left south from the building on a red and silver bicycle. No injuries were reported. The 54-year-old man described the suspect to Officers as a man about 35 years of age with medium brown skin, about 5 feet 8 inches tall, 200 pounds, a full beard and mustache, and wore a tan jacket, blue jeans, eye glasses, gray gloves, and a scarf across his face.

Corpus Christi Police arrested 49-year-old Robert Skinner (9/18/1964) for driving while intoxicated at the 4900 block of Kitchens Street Tuesday. Corpus Christi Police responded to a vehicle crash at the intersection of Kostoryz Road and Norton Street 7:58pm after a black 2011 Chevrolet Silverado struck a blue 2004 Chevrolet Aveo. The 27-year-old woman driver of the Aveo and her 16-year-old girl passenger were not injured in the crash. The Silverado drove away from the crash scene before law enforcement arrived. A Corpus Christi Police Officers saw the damaged Silverado on the 2900 block of Kitchens Street and arrested the driver, Skinner, for driving while intoxicated. The truck was impounded and the Officer delivered Skinner to the city detention center.

A 21-year-old man made a shoplifting complaint to the Corpus Christi Police Department at a store located at 6101 Saratoga Boulevard Monday evening. The 21-year-old man told Officers he is a loss prevention employee of the store and he saw an unknown man load a television valued at about $1,000 dollars into a cart and then had a child push the cart out of the store into the parking lot. The 21-year-old man told Officers he confronted the man and the child about the theft which prompted the man and the child to get into a white Ford Expedition and leave the television behind. The 21-year-old man provided the license plate number of the Expedition to Officers. Officers searched the area and located the Expedition unoccupied and then the Officers impounded the Expedition.

A 26-year-old man reported a burglary to his home on the 4200 block of Cottage Street to the Corpus Christi Police Monday. The 26-year-old man told Officers he arrived at his home at about 1:17pm and found an unknown man in his home. The 26-year-old man told Officers the unknown man ran out the house and fled the area in a white pickup truck. The 26-year-old man told Officers the front door to his home was broken open and the contents inside his home were ransacked. The 26-year-old man described the suspect to Officers as a light skin male about 25 years of age, about 6 feet tall, about 250 pounds and wore a blue jacket with a collar, white polo shirt, a navy blue ball cap, jeans, and a goatee.

The 28-year-old woman told Officers a neighbor noticed an unfamiliar white GMC pickup parked near the house before the 28-year-old woman arrived home. The 28-year-old woman was not sure what was missing by the time of the Officers report.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer recovered a stolen vehicle on the 3000 block of South Port Avenue Monday. A Corpus Christi Police Officer saw a green 2000 Mazda car driven on the 3000 block of South Port Avenue which the Officer recognized as a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Corpus Christi on Saturday. The Officer arrested a 23-year-old man and took a 16-year-old boy into custody who were inside the vehicle. The Officer delivered 23-year-old Michael Garza (9/27/1990) to the city detention center and then delivered the 16-year-old boy to the Nueces County Juvenile Detention Center. The vehicle was taken to the city impound.
