Patrol Report 09/30/2015

The Corpus Christi Police Department responded to 910 calls for service and generated 227 reports for formal criminal complaints from 7:00 a.m. September 29 to 7:00 a.m. on September 30, 2015. These are samples of the criminal complaints filed by the Corpus Christi Police for that time period.

The manager of a business called Corpus Christi Police after a Pepsi machine located on the property was broken into and the money inside was stolen.

Officers found metal shavings on the ground around the machine and upon further investigation they determined the suspects had drilled out the lock plate on the machine and removed the coin box from inside.

It is unknown how much money was stolen from the machine.

It is estimated the suspects did nearly $300 in damage to the Pepsi machine trying to get the coin box out.

Patrol Report 09/29/2015

A 36 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after he heard four gunshots fired outside his home, located in the 1300 block of Aswan Drive.

When Officers arrived they found a 2007 Jeep Cherokee parked in the road in front of the home. It had a shattered front passenger side window, and at least one bullet hole through the driver door window. There was another bullet hole located on the lower passenger side of the vehicle.

At this time, there is no suspect information, and no one has been arrested in this case.

Patrol Report 09/28/2015

A 49 year old female called Corpus Christi Police after her boyfriend came home from a bar, after watching a football game, and assaulted her.

By the time Officers arrived, the boyfriend had left.  The female told Officers that after her boyfriend came home from the bar, he began to argue with her. He grabbed her and pushed her into a wall inside their apartment, located in the 600 block of Naval Air Station Drive.

He then picked up a metal baseball bat and hit her in the stomach area and then stomped on her chest. The female believed that her ribs were broken during the assault. She was transported to Bay Area Hospital by CCFD EMS.

About an hour later, Officers did find the boyfriend back at the apartment. The boyfriend, Charles Krueger (06/20/1968), was arrested for aggravated assault.

An alert female sitting in her car, in the parking lot of the Del Mar College Economic Center, located at 3209 South Staples Street, noticed a male suspect walking around trying to open car doors.

When she saw the suspect open the door of a parked 2006 Chevrolet truck and remove a backpack from inside, she called Corpus Christi Police.

The witness followed the suspect, at a safe distance, as he began walking away from the area. She was able to direct Officers to the suspect as he attempted to enter a barber shop in the 2900 block of Norton Street.

Officers found the suspect inside along with the stolen backpack. Officers arrested the man, Paul Gonzalez (10/03/1975), for burglary and the property was returned to the victim.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer responding to the report of street racing occurring at the Barge Dock, in the 1600 block of Shoreline Boulevard, arrested a man for reckless driving.

The Officer was observing the area from a distance when he saw a 2003 Chrysler PT cruiser in the dock area began to rev up its engine and then saw him take off at a high rate of speed spinning its tires. The driver had no regard for people fishing on the dock, or the pedestrians walking in the area.

The driver, Christian Arriola (03/30/1998), was arrested for reckless driving and his car was impounded.

A Corpus Christi Police Officer on a traffic stop in the 800 block of Harmon Street found two females in possession of marijuana.

The Officer had stopped the 2000 Buick sedan after the driver failed to use a signal to make a turn. When the Officer determined that no one in the vehicle had a driver’s license and there was no insurance on the car he decided to impound it.

Once the female passenger, Brandy Deleon (11/29/1991), was outside the car, the Officer noticed that she had a large bulge in her front waistband.  Once the package was removed, 17 individual bags of marijuana, weighing 4.3 ounces, was found.

The driver of the vehicle, Stephanie Lemos (12/20/1983), was also found to be in possession of 1 bag of marijuana.

The passenger was charged with possession of marijuana, a state jail felony.

The driver was charged with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.

Police Arrest Man on Brooks Drive After Stand-off

Corpus Christi Police arrested 26-year-old Quinton Ellison (9/21/1988) for aggravated assault after he threatened people with a weapon and then barricaded himself in a house on the 300 block of Brooks Drive Tuesday afternoon.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a disturbance with a weapon a little after 1pm on the 300 block of Brooks Drive Tuesday afternoon. Officers arrived and Ellison locked himself in a home and refused to come out to speak to Officers. A 46-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man and a 25-year-old man told Officers they believed Ellison was under the influence of some type of drugs and threatened them with a large knife, but no one was injured. Officers requested additional resources in order to resolve the situation.

The Corpus Christi Police SWAT Team, Hostage Negotiation Team, and Detectives arrived to assist the patrol officers. The 300 block of Brooks was closed to traffic at about 1:45pm. The Hostage Negotiation Team gathered information in which they believed there were no firearms accessible to Ellison and there was no other person inside the home. Ellison surrendered peacefully at 4:15pm and the road was reopened to normal use.

Ellison was arrested for aggravated assault, a second degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and up to a $10,000 fine. Officers delivered Ellison to the city detention center. No injuries were reported that were related to this event.

A 24 year old man called Corpus Christi Police after his ex-girlfriend attacked him with a baseball bat.

The victim told Officers that his ex-girlfriend was drinking alcohol and was intoxicated while both of them were in the front yard of a home located in the 400 block of Mediterranean Drive.

The victim said that she was trying to show off in front of other friends by talking down to the victim. She also spit on him. She then went inside the home, and grabbed an aluminum bat and struck the victim on the head. The female then got in a car and left.

The victim was transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS to be treated for injuries not believed to be life threatening.

Officers know the female suspects name, but she was not located.

Patrol Report 09/10/2015

Corpus Christi Police responded to an audible alarm at the Jalisco Meat Market, located in the 2700 block of South Staples Street.

When Officers arrived they observed a piece of plywood which had been pulled off a broken window to a neighboring building. The Officers knew that the plywood had been used to secure a previously broken window to a business next to the meat market.

In that burglary on September 2nd, the suspects had gained entry through the same vacant business and cut through a wall in order to gain entry to the Jalisco Meat Market.

This morning the suspects made entry again through the vacant building next door.  This time when they made entry into the meat market, the alarm sounded and suspects fled the scene without taking anything.

Officers are still looking for the suspects of the first burglary on  and the suspects from this morning’s break in.

An employee of the Schlotzskys Sandwich Shop, located at 4218 South Alameda Street, called Corpus Christi Police after they arrived at work and found the business had been burglarized.

The employee told Officers that entry was made into the business through the ceiling by removing roof paneling.

Once inside, the suspect ransacked the office and removed money from the safe.

It was estimated that more than $20,000 in damage was done to the business.

At this time, no suspects have been identified or arrested.
