Narcotics Officers Arrest Two at Barge Dock

 The Corpus Christi Police Narcotics and Vice Investigations Division  conducted an operation yesterday evening in the area of 1900 North Shoreline Boulevard that resulted in the arrest of two men.

The operation was the result of an investigation by Officers into the sale of Ecstasy. It  resulted in the arrest of Shamar Lindsey (07/29/1986) and Joshua Lindsey (11/26/1988). 

As Officers attempted to arrest Shamar Lindsey, he evaded Officers on foot and threw a significant quantity of crack cocaine into Corpus Christi Bay at the barge dock. The drugs were recovered with the assistance of Marina Patrol.  The drugs recovered were determined to be 28.80 grams of crack cocaine that resulted in charges of delivery of a controlled substance and tampering with evidence, both felony offenses.  He was additionally charged with evading arrest, a Class A misdemeanor.

Joshua Lindsey was contacted in a vehicle that was stopped by Corpus Christi Police K9 Officers leaving the scene of the investigation.  He was found to be in possession of approximately 1000 pills of Ecstasy weighing 202.76 grams. He was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, a first degree felony.  He was additionally charged with possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor.

Employees of a business, located at 609 South Staples Street, called Corpus Christi Police after a man came into the store, armed with a gun.

One female employee told Officers that she saw a male walk in and point a gun at her and another female employee and then he demanded all the money in the cash register. Once he took the money, the male suspect then left the store and was last seen running behind the business towards Alameda Street.

The two employees were not injured.

The suspect was last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with a blue sweatshirt underneath and faded blue jeans. He had sunglasses and a red bandana on to cover his face. He was also had on tan and black gloves.

Camera surveillance video of the suspect were obtained from the stores security system.

A 31 year old male victim called Corpus Christi Police after he was beaten up and robbed by a man he let sleep on his couch.

Officers arrived and the victim told them that he allowed a co-worker to sleep on his couch at his apartment, located at 5901 Weber Road. The victim said he was awoken to the man standing over him, punching him in the head and face and choking him.  The co-worker was demanding money from the victim.

The victim was able to fight his way out of the apartment, and went to a neighbors apartment to call police.

During the struggle, the victim told Officers he lost his wallet, and he believes the co-worker stole it.

The victim, who was not seriously injured, was able to provide Officers the name of the man who beat him and took his wallet, however, Officers have not located him.

A man was arrested by Corpus Christi Police after an Officer saw him racing another vehicle down the 3100 block of Ocean Drive.

The Officer saw two vehicles take off from the intersection of Ocean Drive and Louisiana Parkway.  When the traffic light turned green, a 2004 Ford Mustang and another vehicle left the intersection at a very high rate of speed accelerating rapidly. Both cars were next to each other and continued to accelerate in an obvious challenge of speed.

The Officer was able to stop the driver of the Ford Mustang, Noe Valdez (01/05/1994), and he was arrested for racing, a Class B misdemeanor. His car was impounded.

The other driver was not located.

ATV and Trailer Stolen From Storage Unit

Corpus Christi Police need your help in locating a stolen Kawasaki All-Terrain Vehicle that was taken from a storage unit located at 6630 Yorktown Boulevard.

The ATV was parked on a silver 16 foot flatbed trailer that was also taken by the suspects.

The owner told Officers that he parked the ATV and trailer in the storage unit on January 3rd and discovered on January 7, someone had pried the storage unit door open and taken the property.

Both the ATV and trailer are now listed as stolen.

The suspects in this case have not been identified, and detectives need your help in solving this crime.

Man Surrenders Safely After Standoff on Hiawatha

Corpus Christi Police arrested 23-year-old Gilbert Villanueva (12/17/1992) for Deadly Conduct and Theft of a Firearm Friday afternoon on the 400 block of Hiawatha after a 2 hour standoff with Police.

Corpus Christi Police responded to a complaint of a driveby shooting on the 4000 block of Navajo Street at 2:17pm. Police were provided a description of the suspect and vehicle involved in the shooting and Officers found the suspect vehicle parked at a home on the 400 block of Hiawatha Street. Officers saw two men walk from the suspect vehicle into the house and the two men locked the door and refused to come outside and speak with the Officers. Officers summoned additional resources like the Corpus Christi Police SWAT team and Hostage Negotiation team to surround the home and establish a dialogue with the people inside the home. The 400 block of Hiawatha was closed to traffic at about 2:30pm. An elderly woman walked out of the home unharmed and met with Police. Shortly after the woman came out of the home, a man walked out unharmed and also met with Officers. Villanueva finally walked out and surrendered to Officers at 4:30pm and was arrested for deadly conduct for discharging a firearm on the 4000 block of Navajo Street. The 400 block of Hiawatha was reopened to normal use at 4:45pm.

No injuries were reported at the scene on Navajo or at Hiawatha.

Corpus Christi Police Detectives gathered information and evidence and discovered the firearm they believe was used in the shooting and learned the firearm was previously reported stolen in San Antonio. Villanueva was delivered to the city detention center for charges of Deadly Conduct and Theft of a Firearm.

A man acting like he was armed with a gun robbed a store located at 2978 Holly Road.

Officers arrived at the Dollar General Store and an employee there told them she had gone outside the store to retrieve some merchandise and when she reentered the store, a male followed her inside. She said the male was wearing a blue hoodie, with the hood pulled over his head, and a dark blue bandanna covering his face.

The suspect pointed an object at the employee through his hoodie front pocket that she believed was a gun. The suspect  then demanded money from the cash register. After handing the suspect the cash, he exited the store and ran east through the parking lot.

The store clerk was not injured.

Corpus Christi Police Narcotics Investigators Serve Search Warrant on Snowbird Street

The Corpus Christi Police Narcotics/Vice Investigators served a search warrant at a home on the 4200 block of Snowbird Street Thursday morning and seized narcotics, then arrested three people.

The Corpus Christi Police Investigators responded to numerous neighborhood complaints about quality of life issues which involved the residence at 4250 Snowbird. The Corpus Christi Police Narcotics Vice Investigators conducted an investigation into possible drug dealing from that residence.  This investigation resulted in the securing of a search and arrest warrant for the location. 

     The warrant was served on January 7, 2016 at about 0550 hours, with the assistance of Corpus Christi Police SWAT team. During this warrant service, quantities of methamphetamine, marijuana, hydroponic marijuana, THC wax, and prescription pills were located throughout the residence. 

     Three subjects were arrested.  They were:
Juan Manuel Sanchez III (5-1-92), who was charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 >1<4 grams;
Adrian Pinon (9-19-96), who was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance PG2 and Possession of a Dangerous Drug;
and Gonzalez, Justin (8-6-96), who was charged with Possession of Controlled Substance PG2 and Possession of a Dangerous Drug. 

 

Homicide Detectives Investigating Death Of Homeless Man

Corpus Christi Police Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of a homeless man that was found on the property of a church in the 1300 block of Comanche Street.

Officers arrived and found the 46 year old male victim had trauma to his head. It is unknown at this time the cause of death and if the crime occurred at the location where the victim was found or if he walked there after being injured at some other location.

The Nueces County Medical Examiner responded to the scene, and they will conduct an investigation and try to determine the cause of death.

License To Carry Holder Shoots Robbery Suspect

A 69 year man shot and stopped an armed robbery suspect who approached him in the front yard of his home, located in the 1300 block of Calle San Carlos, just before 9 PM last night.

The investigation of the crime revealed that the man and a women arrived at their home and parked in their carport driveway. As they  both exited the car, a suspect, wearing a hoodie, approached the couple pointing a gun at the man. The suspect made demands for the victim to give up his wallet. The man, a firearms license to carry holder, fearing for his safety and the safety of the female with him, pulled out his handgun and shot the 23 year old robbery suspect.

The man then held the suspect down until police arrived. The suspect was then transported to Spohn Memorial Hospital by CCFD EMS.

Officers recovered two handguns from the crime scene.

The suspect is in the hospital under police guard and faces charges of aggravated robbery and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is currently in stable condition.

No charges are expected to be filed against the man who shot the suspect.
