A 27 year old mother on her way to buy diapers for her six month old son was attacked by a female who wanted her prescription pills.
The mother called Corpus Christi Police and told them that she was on her way to the HEB Store, located in the 3500 block of Leopard Street., pushing her child in a stroller. The mother said she was approached by the female suspect who asked her about the pill bottle she was holding in her hand.
When the mother refused to talk to her, the suspect hit her on the right side of her face with her fist. The two began to fight over the pill bottle and during the struggle the baby stroller was knocked over with the child inside. The female suspect then produced a knife and the mother relinquished control of the pill bottle. The bottle was full of hydrocodone pills that were prescribed to the mother to help her recover from a recent back surgery.
The child was not injured, but the mother was transported by CCFD EMS to Spohn Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
The female suspect fled on foot. She was last seen wearing a black Marilyn Monroe t-shirt, cut off shorts and black tennis shoes. She has several tattoos, including a tear drop near her eye.
